Proverbs study 8 - Practical guide to living

Greetings brothers and sisters.

Today we study Proverbs 3: 3-4
Here we have mercy and truth as two virtues that we should pursue.
Mercy is one of the beautitudes that Jesus mention in Matthew.

Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.
Matthew 5:7 NKJV

We should always be merciful and kind towards others. That is also one of God's attributes.

Jesus refers to himself as the truth.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
John 14:6 NKJV

So Jesus is the ultimate and perfect truth.

By pursuing mercy and truth it becomes an adornment for our character and also displaying God's character to a lost world. Mercy and truth should be part of our witness to this world.

These two virtues are of great value to men and God.
It leads to having favor with God and men.
