Keep The Fire Burning

ROMANS 12:1

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Vs. 1

We cannot cook anything if the fire isn’t burning or should I say, a food put on a stove that has no fire in it cannot be cooked. So we have to keep the fire burning just to make our food ready for consumption.

So it is with God. God cannot accept a sacrifice that is still blood stricken not properly done or dwell in a cold place, still body or silent body. The sacrifice that is not burning cannot be a pleasing aroma to God.

REVELATION 3:16

So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Vs. 16

God wants us to keep our fire burning so that we can be pleasing to Him. It actually used to be an animal sacrifice but since Jesus Christ came and surrendered Himself on the cross our body now is a sacrifice so as such, our body is to be layed on the sacrificial altar as a living sacrifice and we are to keep it burning for a pleasing aroma to God that is to say, a body that is void of sin.

EXODUS 27:21

In the tent of meeting, outside the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law, Aaron and his sons are to keep the lamps burning before the Lord from evening till morning. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for the generations to come. Vs. 21

We need to be conscious to keep our fire burning before the lord all the time so He can dwell in us. We shouldn’t be like the five foolish virgins who because they were not conscious, did not carry an extra oil to keep their lamp burning till the bride groom returns.

We don’t know when He is coming but He has asked us to present our body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. For us to do that, we need to be conscious of keeping our fire burning till when He returns.

We shouldn’t feel tired or reluctant, we shouldn’t feel we have done that number of times but day and morning, let our fire keeping burning and sending a pleasing aroma to Him in heaven so He looks down on us and say to us like He said to Jesus Christ, “This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased with”. Or like He said to David, “A man after God’s heart”.

Imagine Oga David, after everything, anytime He erred, He was always conscious of that and rent Himself of everything, depriving Himself of Joy, goes to God. Only when we are conscious of that, only then, can we keep our fire for God burning.

We should be conscious to know that our body is a sacrificial lamb unto God and as such should always be kept burning before the Lord all the days of our lives here on earth.

God is a consuming fire and we as is should and joint heirs of the throne are meant to keep our fire burning for Him. God does not dwell in a stinky, blood stricken and cold place.
