The coolest people roll 20-sided dice. Probably not really but if you play D&D every week and it is at the end of a big day. May not sound cool but it certainly was a cool Sunday!

A little spudding and then I was on the road heading to the studio in the big city. We have aggressively undertaken the task of coming up with a set of Huey Lewis and the Groove. The Groove being our hockey team, who have to be on-stage, pitting our musical prowess against 12 other teams vying for the Dominion Award at the biggest hockey/music history. I will have to spend some time telling that tale properly as it really is a tale of humble beginnings, paramount heights, and plenty of fuckery.

The next stop was the arena with the team Dufferin Groove Hockey Club. I have not played a hockey game since the tournament last year, which leaves me far from game shape. Luck is on my side though as the pro-shop guy is available to sharpen my skates which have both figurative and literal rust. A rare treat!

If you look at the game sheet, you can see that we had 3 goals scored on us within the first 6 minutes and things were not looking good. Next, I decided not to sub off with my line mates as I was supporting another fore-checker and putting pressure on the defenceman that was at the end of his shift as well. The puck popped onto my stick in front of the goalie. I shot my eyes open wide and fake a shot on net, then turned my hand over and passed it to the winger in the crease. I wasn't sure it went in til the ref blew the whistle.

In the end, I managed a goal, 2 assists, and NO PENALTIES! It was not an extremely competitive game in the end but ended up being fun as hell when you win by more than a touchdown. I do need a few more games to be ready for the tournament. More games and rehearsals will put out that fire.

I managed to make it home, put the chicks in bed, and assemble for the weekly D&D Nerdfest. Friends who gamed together 20 years ago now can login to https://roll20.net/welcome and play the table-top game like we were back in college. It took a bit of module buying and DM (Dungeon Master) system familiarization but has been a lot of fun for the investment. I enjoyed a Great Lakes - Farmer Strong Imperial IPA and a couple hours of cultist slaying.
