En medio del caos y a pesar de que se sienta como si la brecha espacio-temporal se hubiese sesgado, dos meses han pasado desde mi última reseña de películas.

Que horror.

Lo cierto es que, por increíble que parezca a veces no es fácil recibir contenido. Escuchar música, leer un libro o un post, ver una película, son actividades que requieren energía y hay días – momentos, temporadas, en que nuestra cantidad de energía es un poco limitada.

In the middle of chaos and despite the fact that it feels as if the space-time gap has been skewed, two months have passed since my last film review.
What a horror.
The truth is, as incredible as it may seem sometimes it's not easy to take in content.Listening to music, reading a book or a post, watching a movie, are activities that require energy as well and there are days – moments, seasons, when our amount of energy is a bit limited.

Estuve mucho tiempo alejada de las películas porque sentía que me drenaban y a veces incluso, no podía concentrarme por estar subida en el tren de la ansiedad.

Sin embargo – y aunque todavía no sé muy bien cómo bajarme del tren, parece que mi pasión sigue ahí y estoy volviendo a retomar el hábito de ver y analizar películas.

Por eso, vengo hoy con todas las ganas de hacer una pausa…

I stayed away from movies for a long time because I felt that they were draining me and sometimes I couldn't even concentrate because I was on board the anxiety train.
However – and although I'm still not quite sure how to get off the train, it seems that my passion is still there and I'm getting back into the habit of watching and analysing films.

Pompoko (1994)

Elegí ver esta película por querer empezar el mes con algo ligero. Dije es Ghibli, va a ser hermoso, relajante y me va a dejar sintiendo calidez por dentro. Y aunque no es mentira, esta película tampoco tiene un mensaje muy esperanzador.

I chose to watch this movie because I wanted to start the month with something light.I said it's Ghibli, it's going to be beautiful, relaxing and leave me feeling warm inside. And although it's not a lie, this movie doesn't have a very hopeful message either.

Isao Takahata nos cuenta la historia de la construcción de Tokio pero, desde la perspectiva de una pintoresca comunidad de mapaches con unas habilidades mágicas bastante peculiares. Que con todo el ingenio y la creatividad, intentan oponerse firmemente a que el hombre destruya por completo lo que ha sido su casa desde tiempos remotos.

Entre comparsas coloridas, apariciones medio fantasmales y escenas muy crudas, esta película trae a la luz la importancia del cuidado ambiental y el respeto por la naturaleza. Con un final bastante inesperado, nos deja reflexionado y con un sabor difícil de explicar en la boca.

Isao Takahata tells the story of the construction of Tokyo, but from the perspective of a picturesque community of raccoons with some peculiar magical abilities. With all their ingenuity and creativity, they try to firmly oppose man's complete destruction of what has been their home since ancient times.
Between colorful comparisons, ghostly appearances and very raw scenes, this film brings to light the importance of environmental care and respect for nature. With a unexpected ending, it leaves us feeling thoughtful and with a taste that is difficult to explain in our mouths.

Así como el pueblo de Rajneeshpuram, en este documental nunca – nada, es lo que parece.

If you are like me and feel that deep inside you are destined to belong to a cult, this documentary series will take you at full speed through a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
Hand in hand with former and current cult members who were the main characters in the rise of the community, the directors Chapman Way and Maclain Way carry the story keeping us expectant until the last minute. Just like the people of Rajneeshpuram, in this documentary isn't – never what it seems.

Esta película está llena de personajes hermosos y de profundas enseñanzas. Es un viaje de aprendizaje, descubrimiento y transformación que me resultó muy cercano.

Yo quisiera que la vida entera fuera como una película de Ghibli.

I wish that the whole life would be like a Ghibli film.

Friends (1994) & That 70's Show (1998)

Disfruté muchísimo de ver estos sitcoms l e g e n d a r i o s. Siento que ni siquiera tengo que hacer una reseña. Se veden solos. Son buenísimos.

Son lo mejor para pasar el rato, reírse y engancharse con algo ligero. A veces solo necesitamos eso y está bien.

That 70’s Show me da mucha nostalgia porque me recuerda a mis amigos y cuando salíamos a hacer absolutamente nada. Me hace recordarlos y extrañarlos con cariño.

I really enjoyed watching these sitcoms l e g e n d a r y . I feel like I don't even have to do a review. They sell themselves. They're great.
They're the best thing to hang out with, laugh at, and get hooked on something light. Sometimes we just need that, and that's okay.
That 70's Show makes me very nostalgic because it reminds me of my friends and when we used to go out and do absolutely nothing. It makes me remember them and miss them dearly.
