It's the truth

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Sometimes shitty things happen, but you only have to turn it around to see it as an opportunity rather than an obstacle. I used to be very bad at seeing the opportunities right in front of me when I was younger. Nowadays, I can truly say that I rock at it, so if you are bad at it, there's still hope to turn it around! You just need to practice and become aware of what's happening around you. Rather than seeing the glass half-empty ( I did that), see the glass half-full. That helps a lot!

Everything does happen for a reason

Even the most shitty things in life, are eventually happening for a reason. Even if it feels as if your world is collapsing, and this should not happen to you as you are a good person, maybe years later you will recognize the life lesson that came with this time of hardship. I always do, but yes, it can take some years before I can see it clearly without holding a grudge or feeling upset.

Why I thought about this quote today

As I mentioned, I try to turn something negative into something positive as quickly as possible. One day this may be within minutes, other moments it could mean that I have to sleep a night to process things and then feel reloaded with positive energy. It all depends on my current state of mind and some other factors. Today I had to clean the floor with the vacuum cleaner and while I turned it on, I heard a horrible noise which didn't sound good. I assumed that I forgot to clean the filter the last time (that happens, unfortunately), so I first opened the vacuum cleaner to clean the filter. Too bad, because after I turned it on again, it still made the horrible sound.

I immediately thought "I hope it won't die on me right now when I still am only halfway done vacuuming cleaning". I felt that I summoned the universe to give me what I was focussing on (the universe somehow doesn't hear the word "not") and only minutes later, it stopped. It gave one last breath and it stopped working completely. I said out loud: "be careful what you wish for, as you just might get it".

If it's really broken, that's a bummer

Yes, I can't say that I enjoy the fact that I would have to buy a new one, let's be honest. BUT, today I was feeling in the writing flow and thought maybe this was a good day to write a few posts ahead for the next days, and I was distracted to actually make the decision to do so. Instead of sticking to my decision, I started cleaning up, don't get me wrong, that needed to be done as well, but I would have done that after the writing otherwise. Often this means, that I won't write anymore as I lost my flow to write for that day. My vacuum cleaner probably wanted to remind me of this life lesson.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

It's not every day that I feel in a writing flow, so when I do, I have to remind myself that I should do that first, priorities lady! The rest will follow after. Writing makes me happy and once I finish another post, I feel satisfied and also ready to do other stuff. Just a silly reminder to myself to not forget this!
Maybe the vacuum cleaner just got overheated and my boyfriend has a look at it, to discover it will start working again, or maybe not. I will not worry about it today, as now it's already time to start prepping dinner again and I lost my interest in 'vacuum cleaning" for today anyway haha.
