Well, it is that time of the week again when I write a book review. My last one should be about a week or so ago, or even less. I can’t remember, but I would be writing a book review for a book that is quite voluminous for today. The book “I CAN’T MAKE THIS UP life lessons” by Kevin Hart. I want to say this is an autobiography; oh wait, it is one, ha-ha. I just checked, and it turns out it is. A well-written book by one of the funniest humans ever. His demeanor, everything about him, seems to have an inherent message that is being sent. I have a book I am writing, and after reading this one, it has opened up different ideas and paths to consider.

MY VIEW

First off, I have no other opinion and expression than, wow. It was a well-written book that was actually done very systematically. As you might expect, he employed various figures of speech in driving home his point, and of course, he made quite a good number of witty jokes. I was skeptical when categorizing it under an autobiography because I can put this masterpiece under motivational works. I had issues somewhat with the fact that it seems a tad repetitive. He talked a lot about his struggles and all, and I felt some of that information could have been left out, but of course, the more, the merrier. I also feel that the writing pattern he employed was actually very effective, and a lot of people like me could relate to the man’s struggles and experience. Ah, shit, I think I have jumped far ahead.

Kevin's book is one about his struggles, lessons he learned from certain people and things, and in general, his life story. I feel this book was awe-inspiring and finely written. You could be saying by now that I say that about every book I read, I guess I only read good books. There is one thing that really made me enjoy the book and also makes me feel it is a finely written book; it’s the fact that when the book was written, it was done as if one was speaking and not something you must have thought about and decided to pen it down in the most professional way, it was casual. One chapter in the book was for his father, and he wrote it like he spoke, like it was a conversation, like it was really happening, truly magical stuff.

MY reVIEW

Rating it, I would give it a seven out of ten. The book was written in chapters that were very explicit of what is contained therein and what one is to expects. The author also provided lessons he had learned from both parents and every other aspect of his life. Notably, he played back certain scenes in his life; he made me as a reader visualize these parts of his work and made it even more relatable.

Something else that is noteworthy is the working title, “I CAN’T MAKE THIS UP.” Most of the information and stories in the book sound rather ambiguous and far-fetched, which could make a reader doubt the book's authenticity, but Kevin is saying that this information is the truth, nothing but the truth. I tried confirming most of the information and it seems they do check out, well at least to the latest information like his relationship problems that were as educative as ever. In all, it is packed with a lot of lessons and motivation for one to take out. Witty jokes and cheesy metaphors all make-up for a fascinating read.
