Thanks @joanstewart for reminding me. How about a bit of fiddle music.

Oh my word, what talent! Wonderful age to get children involved, thoroughly enjoyed this Irish Shindig.

A little walk down memory land of my childhood at Highland Gatherings doing Scottish dancing.

Last time we visited an Irish night out was at least thirty years ago, sadly not common down here, it used to be very popular.

This is the kind of music I grew up listening and going to dances as a teenager. Would love to been at a Highland gathering although I never had the opportunity to learn highland dancing. Love seeing the dance and hearing the bagpipes.

Haven’t been to a dance in ages. Before the pandemic there were lots of Ceilidhs around the area every week with song, fiddle and guitar.

Covid pandemic stopped our gathering this year, annually in May/June we have massed bands and competitive dancing, hopefully next year it will run once again. Only time we get to see and hear this portion of our ancestry.

Irish pub evenings with song and dance used to be quite regular, another event that has quietly disappeared. Would not make much difference to us now, have not been out at night for well over twenty years, one adjusts and moves on.

Covid sure put a stop to any gatherings. We are the same Joan, not going out much at night except ( before Covid) to weekly play cards at Legion or community center. I attended a ceilidh once in awhile.

Have a pleasant weekend. 😊

We have not gone out in many years at night due to safety issues over here, never really worried about it since days are busy irrespective and we make up when going on holidays.
