Corona Chaos - PowerHouseCreatives Contest
Coronavirus chaos is on everyone`s lips. From the news presenter, your co-worker, the neighbours or your children. It has made its presence felt all over the world. The death toll is far from reaching its peak.
As the coronavirus crisis deepens, we are faced with unprecedented facts. We are asked to practice social-distancing, stay at home and wait for the worse to pass.
Everything that happens around us has a direct or indirect effect us. Sometimes we are instantly aware of it, other times it takes a bit longer.
The influence that our environment has on us is far more important than we realize as it can affect us physically, emotionally and energetically.
Did you know there is a direct link between achieving your dreams and your surroundings? Many of us fail to understand that we need to live in an environment that supports our dreams.
We need to think positive and eliminate negative thoughts. Especially nowadays, when we are facing a global pandemic crisis. We are constantly assaulted by a massive wave of negativity.
We are way more susceptible to pick up this negativity when the fear-based media releases only articles meant to spike our anxiety.
Since the quarantine started, how many hours have you spent glued to the TV or surfing the net, reading about the coronavirus?
The stunting and just-add-water reporting practices serve a double purpose: to offer controversial information and promote anxiety. No surprise that you are feeling stressed, lonely and depressed after watching the news!
Luckily there are things to you can do to improve your mood and alleviate your symptoms. You can:
- reduce your exposure to the media
- switch from visual to print articles
- take a day off from the electronics
- spend more time with your kids
- pick a new hobbie
- exercise for 20-30 minutes
- read a book
- start a diary and write down your thoughts
- make more time for self
Think of your life as a little plant that you just transferred from the nursery into a pot. In order to have it grow, it needs to meet the proper conditions. Thus, you water it, pluck out the weeds, add fertilizer and so on...
Your dreams require the same type of attention as the plant. How do you nurture a dream? Well, you start by learning more of its "needs". Your personal environment is the cradle and it should reflect the support, love, care and dedication required for your dreams to grow.
If you never paid attention to your surroundings, maybe you can use this time off to make some changes.
Start small. Try to identify what are you missing: the structure, the willpower, the motivation, the determination? Whatever it is, you can certainly overcome it.
Since this virus is such a popular topic, I dedicated a painting to it: Corona Chaos. Check out the image above and let me know what you think of it!
The broadcast media certainly deserves more than their share of responsibility for nearly inciting a panic. Of course they're ratings-based, and train wrecks gather ratings, so it's a difficult cycle to break out of.
I like your list of ideas. There are a lot of creative outlets in the home that we typically don't even think about, and ways to keep yourself and family happy and healthy. It's a really good time to break away from the electronics.
Given that my work involves hours spent in front of the computer, I do my best to reduce my screen time and spend my free time doing other things, more creative.
