Quiet Celebration for Sublime Sunday

@c0ff33a's Sublime Sunday

Just a short post to share my beautiful Sunday. After preparing for today's small celebration for my daughter, I'm ready to head out to meet them for lunch. It's her birthday. Making sure I complied with and checked off all the items on my granddaughter's list, we're now ready. One final call from her to ensure we didn't leave anything behind.

This is the 3rd time she's called this week to make sure we got everything correct for her mother's event. She told us that we are her favorite grandparents before hanging up the phone; thus ensuring we don't mess it up for her.

So, birthday items in hand, we were ready to meet them and allow my granddaughter to take all the credit for the preparations.
20200223_102849.jpg

Everyone wanted barbeque, so we meet at a local restaurant. I call the gathering small, with eight family members attending.

The food was delicious with a variety of menu items. I ordered my usual Chef Salad. And as usual, it was too much for one sitting. So I knew I'd have lunch for the next two days.
20200223_131546.jpg

One the way home, I noticed some individuals who were obviously homeless as they were gathered under the freeway. I gave a prayer of thanks for me and my family; then gave hopeful words of prayer for the people I saw that I didn't know; but I know.

I thought about how blessed one is just to be alive. And if you're fortunate enough to be in generally good health with the basic necessities of life, you're truly blessed.

It's the small things that make my day and bring a smile to my face. A good rest of the evening is in store for me, and a great start to the week ahead.

Thanks for sharing my Sunday.

Hello @joanstewart. How is your Monday starting out. Hope you are well.

Yes, we have lots to be thankful for in our daily blessings.

All we have to do is look all around us, and we see the pain and suffering of so many near and far. Not counting the millions we only hear about because they are fleeing for their lives with only the clothes on their back. But my heart breaks for the children and the elderly, the two most vulnerable groups among us.

Thanks for taking your time to come view my post. I know whenever you come to visit, you'll lend your continued support, encouragement, and leave kind words that uplift me whenever you visit.

Have a great week ahead steemin' on in your endeavors.

A plate of well-supplied food. Surely everyone was satisfied :)

You know @oneray, you are right. We all are very blessed just to be here on this Earth. To wake up everyday to a new beginning, something to look forward to. It's the day where anything is possible cause you can choose how you live that day.

We arrive with nothing, and we will leave with nothing because we can't take anything with us. But it's what we do in between that time that matters.

Thanks so much for stopping in to view my post and wish me well with kind words. I appreciate your support as always. It was nice making your acquaintance and having you in the Redfish Rally. We hope you enjoyed your time there. It would be nice to know what you thought of the Rally and how it helped you.

Hi @janaveda. You're welcome. I was glad to share them on that sublime Sunday. It certainly was a good day. And you don't have to do a lot, just be with family and content with your life. But also understand the world around you that inspires you to take notice of the less fortunate and be mindful how you are blessed and what you can do to help alleviate the pain and suffering of others if you are fortunate to be able to do so.

Thanks so much for visiting my post and bring such kind words. Have a good week ahead of you in whatever your endeavors.

I hate Red Velvet. Chocolate is my favorite. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your kind words. Have a great day and week ahead.

hi @wwwiebe. How are you doing this week. Yes, she certainly does. And she has her "pawpaw" just melting continuously. He won't be any good by the time she's grown. She's only 10; but the only granddaughter. So when she calls and says "hi, you guys. Just calling to check in on you," that just takes the cake.

Can't blame it all on him because whenever I reach for anything when I'm out and about shopping, it's her size, lol.

Thanks for your nice words. Truly appreciate your support.

"I thought about how blessed one is just to be alive. And if you're fortunate enough to be in generally good health with the basic necessities of life, you're truly blessed."

You are right @roleerob. We do tend to take everything for granted. We go along our daily lives without realizing each day is a blessing. That's one thing that we know for sure that is guaranteed..we will never know the day or the hour it will be our time.

So make good use of the time we have each day to do good unto ourselves, our families, and others.

Have a good day and week this week in your ventures.

There are reminders everywhere @blueeyes8960 if we care to open our eyes and take stock of the situations. Everyday, we're confronted with it. The problem has become too massive now that I don't think it will ever end. I keep hearing the same excuses and plans decades and decades. And still the problems exist. It saddens me.

I try to stay humble and count my blessings everyday. Thanks for your birthday wishes for my daughter. I sent her a message chat tell her of all the wonderful well wishes from my Steemian friends. She said to tell everyone how "blessed she is and thankful".

I appreciate your kind words and thoughtfulness for the many of us who are less fortunate. Stay blessed and kind, and appreciate you taking your time to stop in and view my post.

Hello @hiezama. I feel blessed everyday just to wake up and be able to get out of bed by myself. I sent my daughter a message relating to her all the well wishes from my Steemian friends for her birthday. She said to send a huge "thank you" to everyone.

And the food was delicious. Here it is Wednesday, and I'm still enjoying it. I love to visit restaurants where you really get your money's worth in terms of quality and quantity of the menu items. I love to-go boxes, lol.

Thanks for you stopping by and leaving your kind words for me and my daughter. Have a great day, and take care.

Thank you and just back now from a large meeting of all the leaders of non profit charities here my friend. We are looking at gathering all to work together, but things are never easy. But we will continue trying and it was great to meet all the leaders of the other charities.
We also agreed to requests to help two charities that work with cerebral palsied children, as they desperately need nappies for the children.
But such is our life and we will as usual do our best for them.
Hope that your week is also treating you well.
Blessings!

Hello again. My week is going good. Just trying to stay out of the hustle and bustle of the outside world and stay healthy.

Keep up your tireless good work you do as I know how hard it is to get people in tune and on the same page working together for a good cause.

Every group has their priorities. But when you see that people in need is the main priority no matter where they fall on the spectrum of life, their can be consensus.

You will be blessed in everything you do. First because you care; next, because you stepped out on faith to help those in need.

Thanks for your continued support and encouragement. Good luck with the leaders of the non-profits @papilloncharity.

You definitely know what you are talking about my dear friend and I know that it's not going to be a walk in the park for us. Thankfully I got it right a few years ago in another part of our country and I know that I have to create ownership of the vision.
The ultimate aim is to help the poor with quality opportunities and if this bunch can be blended it will certainly create a big difference.
We do all in prayer and let's see hoe it goes!
Hope that you have a good Friday.
Blessings and thank you!

Hello. Nice to meet you @ninahaskin. Yes, I love quiet Sundays. You have 6 days to complete all your activities. Then Sunday is quiet time to relax, reflect, and refresh for the week to come.

If we do have a family gathering, I like Sunday afternoons better than Saturdays. Everyone is out on Saturdays with the hustle and bustle of shopping and dining.

Hope you had a quiet one yourself.

The only time things change somewhat is when the weather is bad on Saturday and all our outdoor work responsibilities shift to be done on Sunday. Not a fan of those occassions because then you end up dragging butt even worse on Monday!

Oh @jayna. It's the most precious thing in the world. And especially little girls. They just melt you every time you spend time with them. She tells her friends that she has to come over two times a month to help us clean house because we're elderly. And the moment she hits the door, she grabs cleaning items and start dusting and mopping.

Sunday at the birthday lunch, she announced to everyone that she didn't realize we were in real bad shape keeping on top of the house cleaning, lol. And that she would be charging more next time.

Her mom scolded her, but we just laughed, as did everyone else. So I told her next time she needs to stay the entire weekend for three full days of cleaning from morning until night. She looked at us like we were out of out minds.

But I'll tell anyone not to rush you kids to have children. Only when they are ready and can handle the responsibility.

I sense you'll be fantastic grandparents. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and engaging with me.

Hello @jerrytsuseer. Nice to meet you. I see you chatting in the Terminal from time to time. Thanks so much for stopping by and viewing my post. I appreciate your support and kind words.

And yes, I always get the Chef Salad with 3 different types of meats. Then I nibble a bit from it and from everyone else's plates. That's what children are for. Then get a to-go bag for myself. But I'm trying to reduce my A1C for my Diabetes. This is my year to accomplish it.

Good Morning @justclickindiva (man that's a lot of typing for a username But I guess it is no worse than @jerrytsuseer ha ha ha.)
fupkmy.png I see you chatting in Discord as well. I thought your were an old hat, but methinks now you are a relative newcomer?
I should be far more concerned about diabetes that I really am. The disorder is prevalent in my family, most with adult onset. (type II)

Yes, please do monitor it @jerrytsuseer. I have Type 2 Diabetes, and monitor my A1C level 2x day. It's prevalent in my family also on both sides.

Originally, I was "jerrytsujongleur" jongluer being a medieval word for minstrel, but someone commented on one of my posts that I was almost prophetic so... I changed from a minstrel to a prophet- a "Seer"
