A DIP

It certainly has been a hot summer here in Texas. With temperatures reaching over 90 degrees. The Gulf Coast of Texas is especially hot and humid. You can sweat profusely just going outside for only 15 minutes.

The only activity that cools you down is a trip to the beach or any nearby pool where you can just jump in and cool off. Always careful though is your use of appropriate PH level sunscreen.

Since we've been prohibited from gathering in large crowds, trips to our nearly beaches are off limits. The community pools are also closed until further notice.

My granddaughter loves to swim. Two months ago, she asked for a pool of her own to be kept at our home. So we set out to find one. To our surprise, all local stores were out of stock. Also, our search online produced the same results for the size above ground pool we were looking for.

We finally located one. Four weeks later, it arrived. We started the process of assembly. Didn't realize the pool cover produced a nice shadow for our Shadow Hunter's Community.

During that time, we discovered my daughter was exposed to the virus by a co-worker. This week, they were finally able to come and enjoy their pool.

It was the best decision we made. She's thoroughly happy and promises to come every weekend until Fall.

A DIG

This past month I purchased some sweet potatoes to make a pie. I saved one of them so that it could grow stem. I wanted to plant it in the backyard to start a small garden.

I have a flower pot. I plan to cut off eyes with the growth and plant them separately in soil.

Wish me luck.

Thanks for having you in my challenge @justclickindiva
I’m so jealous of the pool you have in your backyard!

I wish I have one of those;)
I was actually thinking 💭 of just digging a hole 🕳 into the ground and to put something that is water-resistant on top of it ;)

Namaste 🙏

You're welcome. I'd think twice before going that route. Individual results may vary, lol. It was just large enough for her and her mom. And you can see, she's thrilled. I forgot to mention that when we walk by, she splashes water on us or jumps up and grabs us. She's a riot.

Take care.

You got a pool for your grand daughter, how lovely. I have never swam before not to talk of dipping my leg in water but I believe I would later and learn from there.

Backyard pools are so much fun! I hope you have plenty of summer left to enjoy it. It got down into the 40s here last night. Fall is on it's way! Thanks for showing us your shadow!

Hello. You are welcome. I didn't even notice it until I saw the photos two weeks ago after the assembly. She absolutely loves it. And we have at least 6 more weeks until Fall actually sets in before we can take it down for the Winter.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend.

This is the gem she is so happy about hahahah is that your daughter there too? Its big, I just got ours cleaned and put away. Indeed in these rare times of covid and no gatherings this is heaven on Earth. And the fun of watching is a present

Yes, it's a small one, but she is happy. And that's my youngest daughter. While they are enjoying the pool, I'm inside preparing dinner and at the same time, running back and forth taking them whatever they need.

Next year, we will get a larger one. I still don't trust the community pools to be safe. Thanks for stopping by.
