Wise Words - A Book that Changed my Life.

“My intention is for all of my activities to be directed by Spirit. My intention is to love and radiate my love to my writing and any who might read these words. My intention is to trust in what comes through me and to be a vehicle of Spirit, judging none of it. My intention is to recognize the Spirit as my Source and to detach from my ego. My intention is to do all that I can to elevate the collective consciousness to be more closely in rapport with the Spirit of the originating supreme power of intention.”
― Wayne W. Dyer

I don’t read anywhere near as much as I used to and not for any other reason than I simply cannot seem to get beyond two paragraphs without falling asleep these days… but I actually used to read a fair amount. Beyond childhood I have not read much fiction and as I headed toward my late teens I began gravitating toward nonfiction inspirational and motivational content of which I have read a lot. Many great books and some nothing more than average, but even those ones have something to offer you.

I have long since adopted the mind-set of take from it what you will and leave the rest, and this is a principle which I apply to most of my life. So I may not necessarily agree or connect with everything written, but there is more often than not at least some of it which resonates with me. However, there are two books which I have read a few times over the years that made such an enormously positive impact on my life.

I have shared the knowledge of both these books with many people and every single person that actually ended up reading them has echoed my sentiment about the constructive impact which they had on their lives too, So I decided to share one of these two with all of you. Perhaps I will delve into the second one another day… For those curious, the other book is called Stepping into the Magic. The book I have chosen to share with you today however, is…

The Power of Intention by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

This book truly did change my life. It was recommended to me many, many years back by my reiki master. She spoke so highly of it but at the time I could not justify the money required to purchase it. Several years later, when I was playing editor, designer and pretty much every other role for the virtual magazine which I had launched, I was working quite closely with Hay House Publishers – a connection which I had made with the previous local print magazine which I had launched and ultimately sold some years prior. With every issue which was published, Hay House allowed me to select five for a publis giveaway and then also one for myself. I had actually forgotten about the recommendation for this book by then, but then it popped up in one of their “recommended reads” sections at the time – so I selected that as the book I would choose for me that time around. It came to me at an already positive turning point, but it became the catalyst for catapulting me in the right direction.

“When you’re connected to the power of intention, everywhere you go, and everyone you meet, is affected by you and the energy you radiate. As you become the power of intention, you’ll see your dreams being fulfilled almost magically, and you’ll see yourself creating huge ripples in the energy fields of others by your presence and nothing more.” ― Wayne W. Dyer

Wayne Dyer wrote many brilliant books, but this one was definitely his best – in my opinion anyway. He also did a lot of public motivational speaking and I would love to have attended one of his talks – sadly, he passed away in 2015. Thankfully his wisdom lives on in his written word. The Power of Intention encompasses the words and teachings of many spiritual and religious individuals and although I do not consider myself a religious person in any way, shape or form – the messages delivered through the many quoted words, coupled with his own context and input, resonated very strongly with me.

People see the title “The power of intention” and can often misconstrue the actual content of the book. There is so much more to it than practicing the “law of intention” - in fact he actually steers well away from that term because of the stigma attached to it in general. It is a complete deconstruction of everything in life back to the point of energy. It focuses on the active practice of gratitude in your life, how to process pretty much everything to a point of positive and it steers you in the direction of truly connecting with your higher self – your REAL self!

“The spiritual journey does not consist in arriving at a new destination where a person gains what he did not have, or becomes what he is not. It consists in the dissipation of one’s own ignorance concerning one’s self and life, and the gradual growth of that understanding which begins the spiritual awakening. The finding of God is a coming to one’s self.” ― Wayne W. Dyer

This book is not about greed or ego. It is not about self-service or me, myself and I. Polar opposite in fact. It is about connecting with and embracing a higher level of consciousness to a point that you live your every day life in that state. It is about simply being... letting GO of ego, getting to know your TRUE self and embracing that.

“Combining Free Will with Intention In mathematics, two angles that are said to coincide fit together perfectly. The word coincidence does not describe luck or mistakes. It describes that which fits together perfectly. By combining free will with intention, you harmonize with the universal mind. Rather than operating in your own mind outside of this force called intention, your goal may very well be, as you read this book, to work at being in harmony at all times with intention. When life appears to be working against you, when your luck is down, when the supposedly wrong people show up, or when you slip up and return to old, self-defeating habits, recognize the signs that you’re out of harmony with intention. You can and will reconnect in a way that will bring you into alignment with your own purpose.”― Wayne W. Dyer

Excelente y magnifico libro, como no va a cambiar a alguien si es totalmente único y deja un gran sabor de boca, sobre todo estableciendo que la intención que tengas al lograr algo será tu motivación y tu fin al terminar la faena =D!
