2020 ROUND 47 (Closes 11am UTC 24th December 2020)

WHAT YOU WIN

WINNER

After 7 days I will decide which track I like the most! The winning track selected (by me) will win all the liquid earnings that this post accumulates and the confirmation of funds transfer will be shared in the following round.

SPECIAL MENTIONS

Sometimes you guys and gals give me SUCH awesome selections that it is really hard to choose just one winner.... so if there are any additional tracks which I absolutely LOVE I will send those individuals a tip of 1 Hive via their original comment OR via direct transfer.

HOW TO ENTER

All you have to do is share a link in the comments to a song that you are really enjoying at the moment - whether it is new or old it does not matter and neither does the music genre... whether you have loved it your entire life or just for a day is irrelevant! just NO personal promo links please! And please do not look at MY track genre selection as a guide to what you should or should not share... I have an incredibly eclectic taste in music and will no doubt continue to shock most of you as the weekly rounds unfold haha!

text16.png

Right! With the logistics out the way... let's get to it!

MY TRACK SELECTION/S FOR THE WEEK

which is of no consequence really haha - but what fun would it be if I didn't get to share with you all as well!

text16.png

AND THE WINNER OF THE LAST ROUND...

@KLYE

YOUR 27.76 HIVE HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED

Wow. How cool that Sonny Boy Williamson made the grade. When I saw him in 1970 I became a fan of the blues instantly and it goes on yet today. I'm doing the research for my Friday music post right now (listening to music) and will have an entry a little later.

Thanks Jaynie. I really appreciate the mention and the initiative. It's a really good deal!

💛 Thanks for the special mention! 😊

This week, I share Gregory Alan Isakov, a 41-year-old songwriter/musician who was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. His family immigrated to the US when he was 7-years-old because of his fathers work. He began touring with a band when he was only 16-years-old!

Here, I am sharing my second-favorite song of his. He did two or three renditions of my favorite of his songs ("Was I Just Another One"), but I can't find a video corresponding to what I think is his best rendition of that song. This song ("Caffeine") is a close second to that favorite, though, and I first heard them performed back-to-back where one song gently slid into the other without a break in the music. It was awesome!

Isakov's music is usually sweet and mellow. In fact, you might have to turn the volume up just a bit to appreciate this song in all its splendor. 🙂

Gregory Alan Isakov never heard his music, very mellow, nice touch to take the edge off at the end of the day.

Leaving so young he is American, with very few memories possibly of growing up in South Africa nice learning about him thanks @thekittygirl

Cool beans, last 4 Non Blondes then Blondie good fun playing old 'chicks' bands, now to spend some time sourcing a guy or two, who knows where the mood takes you. Music is definitely good for the soul.... Have a wonderful day!

Congratulations @klye for swooping in and spinning a disk.

I believe this song is a winner. Coming from the UK based singer, Michael Kiwanuka. In this song titled "Love and hate", He talks about his pains, his struggles and his victories. Please take your time and enjoy. This is a masterpiece.

Meet Bruno Mars, a multi-faceted artist, who followed in the footsteps of my favorite singer Michael Jackson, I love all his songs and choreography.

I share a traditional Christmas song from my country Venezuela. Enjoy! Running little horse

Run Horse, Let's go to Bethlehem (Bis)
To see Mary and the Child too

The Child Too, say the shepherds

That a Child is born covered with flowers (repeat)

The Angel Gabriel, Announcement to Mary
That the divine son of Her would be born (repeat)

From Her would be born, say the shepherds

That a Child is born covered with flowers (repeat)

The three wizard kings, They come from the east (repeat)
And they bring the child beautiful presents

Beautiful gifts, say the shepherds

That a Child is born covered with flowers (repeat)

Saint Joseph and the Virgin, the mule and the ox
They were the ones who saw the Child born (repeat)

At the child's birth, say the shepherds

That a Child is born covered with flowers (repeat)

Choir

A newborn child is born .... covered with flowers (3 times)

The bass player from my old band is quite the pot stirrer over on Facebook and he asked what there was to like about jazz. The question stuck in my head. I wanted to tell him to to listen to the bass and drums in the small combo's post WW2 into the 60's.

Relaxed ambience when jazz is played like this, reminds me of many things during my childhood. Amazing share and yes piano, guitars, big bass and drums is all it takes to have a wonderful evening to listen or to dance to.

Hi! I often forget how much I like this type of jazz. My old school Long Beach State University has a jazz radio station on campus!

One does tend to forget, when growing up, going into a Hotel one often heard jazz music fill the space of a foyer.

Large departmental store would have live music near the now "old fashioned" tearooms found in large stores. A lot more live bands than one sees today.

After 2020 we need to stand together more than before, so many unknowns have come our way, too many falling through the cracks!

Going into this Feastive Season, I wish everyone safety, home, family and friends, if you have all you are deemed fortunate. Cast a thought to those with a lot less....

Invitation to join in this week goes out to @silversaver888 @javillnares and @calisto24
