Inktober52 | Prompts 7 & 8

Greetings, everyone
I am quite behind with my drawings for the Inktober52 challenge. Prompt 7 was Dinner and prompt 8 was Spider.

Process

I had brainstormed with my daughter, Vivian, the idea of combining these two prompts. She sent me this concept art:

So, I decided to work my own version of a spider having dinner.

I have not developed a fixed style for my drawing, so I ussually need models. I wanted my spider to look as realistic as possible.

The same with the human she was devouring.

There were some details that were lost in the inking process. I still need to work on that.

But I like the edn result. I think that what we have seen portrayed in so many monster movies is somehow meant to happen as long as humans keep abusing nature and taking for granted that we can rule over it.

This spider may be meant to represent human arrogance and sense of entitlement, whether it is based on religious grounds or on scientific certainty.
