RE: Mindful Monday on a Very Snowy Day

Oh, my!! The whole story brought tears to my eyes because I know from one of my cousins, that every word is true and for those that grouse over the pay and benefits they earn?

Are you serious? Step in those shoes one day and you will be begging for mercy.

I loved my parent's carrier. She was an Air Force veteran that took care of all the older people on her route, stopping to see if they were doing well, bringing the mail up to the door if she knew they weren't well. Etc.

All putting her behind, but, she was the best of her kind. I applaud you and everyone in your position. I support my post office when I can. I am still sending out packages and only shop online for gifts occasionally. I still like to get boxes from people in the mail. Feels more personal. LOL

Thank you for the great write! Glad you are home looking from the inside out now!

@dswigle - thanks for the supporting comment! There are truly some great and caring carriers, especially in the smaller towns. I put one of my carriers in for a commendation because he smelled gas from the porch of one his houses and made the effort to find the people to report it to. The gas company said the furnace was leaking and ripe for an explosion that would have taken out the whole block maybe. He got national attention from the USPS and the Safety Manager from the District Office came from 2 hours away to give him an award! But they all have their people they look after on their routes - we've initiated several "wellness checks" on elderly people who appear to be missing. But, yes,it is a very tough job being a carrier. Thank your for appreciating yours!
