Today here with a post that the Power House Creatives community has started as an initiative! The #thriveonhive post!
As close as you're going to get to seeing us post a picture of ourselves :P
THE WHAT, WHY, WHO & WHERE OF IT ALL
What
What is hive to me? Hive is a wonderful space that’s not just a social media front end. It’s a place that lets people from all walks of life truly connect. I have people I follow that are from all over the world: Australia, Netherlands, Greece, Italy, Nigeria, Venezuela and lots more! If I were to meet these people in real life I think I would have an easy time, just as here, shooting the shit and being friends the same as we are on here. You could potentially get that on the mainstream platforms but what you also get there is lots of negativity, hate and censorship. Then there’s the great amount of technology and learning we can constantly do on here. I learn things pretty much weekly here! I rarely learned things when I was posting on the mainstream platforms.
This place is more than just a social media space, it is a place where we can have a wide range of interests. I get a lot of news type information from here, taken with a grain of salt of course, I get my crypto information here and I get to do all of that and make a little bit of money in the form of cryptocurrency. What more could one ask for?
Why
Why am I on hive? Almost all of the people who have been on here for a while will probably say the sand thing: "I came for the money but I stayed for the community." There is real connection and friendship that goes on here.
Being able to have some ability to help other people out throughout the world financially, even if it's in crypto not fiat, is a remarkable thing. I earn money doing what I enjoy doing here and I get to connect with some incredible people. Some of the people I've gotten closest to, I wouldn't have ever probably met if it wasn't for this little corner of the internet many of us call home!
Who
Who is hive for? Hive is for literally anyone! You don’t have to be a super tech person to be on here. It’s very easy once you understand the importance of keeping your keys safe and secure. I think that's the beauty of it for me. I can get my wife to post here, I've seen grandmothers post here, and I've seen people who are unbelievably technical post on here. That is awesome! Most often those people don't mix in the same circles such as on the forums. The Microsoft forums where the wizards post and help people with their technical problems don't mix with other social areas. We have it all encompassed into Hive! I can go from one Excel community, to the Natural Medicine community and then over to the DPorn community if I really wanted to, all without leaving the website or blockchain at all! Where else can you get such diversity all in one spot?
Where
Where do I see hive going? I see it becoming the Ethereum of the gaming and social media side. Ethereum is great at the tech things and DeFi but we’ve got Splinterlands on here! The #1 game consistently on the State of the DApps. Splinterlands is an incredibly fun and addicting game to play so pairing that with blockchain based cryptocurrency is brilliant. I think Splinterlands and dCity will be what grabs a lot of the average persons attention over the technical component of fast, free transactions that developers love. With a strong community behind it, willing to test and give quick feedback, this is a developers dream!

Isn't it great? Not only that, but you could spend entire days or weeks just exploring some of the most popular communities! I've gotten into a rabbit hole of exploring a community and the posts that are in it if I haven't been there in a while or if I've never seen it before. I love being able to do that!

Ah, thanks. It works well for me on PeakD but I didn't think about the other front ends! I have to figure out what I need to do to adjust my formatting. I spend too much time on PeakD :)
I've never used hive.blog, honestly but I should give it a try. I was hoping that the PeakD settings would go forward to other front ends but looks like that isn't the case! I should periodically check what my blog looks like on the front end that many new people use to make sure they don't get confused by it.
I also use peakd but had hive.blog open for the commenting through the #thriveonhive posts. Trying to multitask here lol.
One thing I have learnt is that most seasoned users make use of peakd.... but newer users mostly use the traditional entry point.... so yes, just something to keep in mind :)
Appreciate the feedback, I am thinking to include an introductory picture first then the rest of the post. I use that Hive divider to kind of highlight what the post core content is, then a divider at the end to signify my signature. That's a new process for me, I think like 2 weeks old so I have to fine tune it some more.
Have to always think of the newer members who don't use PeakD, so I will be doing that since I work with a lot of them lately!
This didn't occur to me either @jaynie!!!!! Kinda annoying. I've come over to Hive as my commenting won't load on Peakd and I can't figure out why.
That sucks, try changing nodes?

Another thing is: through their posts you see that people are more than a hacker or a gamer or someone interested in crypto. People post about their holidays, their garden, their family. Where else do you have that?
Excellent point! Thank you for pointing that out. You get to talk about your real interests but also get to see a slice of their every day life indeed. So many people have individual places for their interests. We have it all encompassed into hive!
