Do you know this time of the year, wind, rain and kids that need to go to school. I bring them with the car, just to safe them from a damp set of clothes. And when i drive away i have to look over my shoulder three times, and look again to make sure that there is nobody cycling there. No school kids cycling without clothes that reflect my car lights or bicycles without lights. YES WITOUT lights. I hate children who ride WITHOUT a lights. And believe me there are soooo many. So when the national traffic association ANWB had a campaign to help to get all children on bikes WITH lights.

They provide a spraycan with yellow paint and a template to go out and create awareness in the streets near the and on the road near school. So i ordered it and made a project out of it with the boys. they loved the fact that they were allowed to graffiti on the streets hahahahaha

It is a yellow paint and the text is : TURN ON YOUR LIGHT and a LAMP you put the template on the street and spray and than take the cardboard template away and you are finished. The can is enough for 4 places to spray the text.

Did it work, Britt? Well i don’t know.... YET but i guess that when you read the text you might want to think again when you don’t have a light on.... and its visible in the dark thats the beauty of the bio degradable paint. I want to warn the parents aswell, in the Netherlands you as a driver are always at fault its bizar, but the truth. If you care about your kids in the dark winter schooldays, check the damn lights. If they are in an accident because of it you are partly to blame.

I have a blinking red light on the back of my bike and wear a helmet.

More adults ride bikes safely here than children. I call them young organ donors, especially the ones on the scooters.

yes, this is very important.
but.
ads and graffiti became such a common place, everyone has an information overload -- do you really consider these drwaings on the ground could prove something to anyone... are you sure they even can be read? especially by the cyclists?..

Wow, it's unbelievable how so many parents aren't seeing to it that their kids have lights on their bikes! What could be their reason for not getting lights on their kids' bikes? The lights can't be that expensive.

It's a great idea to go with the graffiti stencils, and the kids have fun doing it while also likely getting the message as well as they're doing it. I hope it has an effect on those reluctant parents!

Great idea, and it’s legal. Hopefully people pay attention! I am over cautious during the early morning and evening when busses and children are near the street. Great job including the little ones too 🥰

Great idea! It is illegal here to ride without helmet and lights. I am actually glad even though it would have been nice to be their own idea. But, if they don't want to protect themselves or their kids, I actually don't mind that.

Great parenting to get them involved in this and I hope it works.
