MY STEEM STORY

A Power House Creatives Initiative

Power House Creatives _night mode.png

Everyone has a story – and all our stories have something in common… we all started from nothing and knew nothing. People want to hear stories. They want to hear OUR stories — they want to know who we are, where we are from, what we are doing, who and what we love, what we have learned and where we are going. People also want us to hear their stories! Being a part of the Steem network is an individual journey for every single one of us and through this initiative, we will share our stories not only with all who are already here – hopefully inspiring, guiding and informing them… but doing the same for everyone else in the world too. Through our stories, we will prick the curiosity of those who have not yet arrived and illuminate and widen the already open doors to our one in a million blockchain.

We invite and encourage each and every one of you to participate and share your stories too! You can find the "how to" details at the end of this post.

MY STEEM STORY - BY @BLUEEYES8960

Where my Steem Journey began

My journey with Steem began because I was looking for a place to play online Texas Hold'em. I live in the USA and online Poker sites like Poker Stars were kicked out of the United States. In my quest, I discovered Bitcoin and dove headfirst into the world of cryptocurrencies.

I bought STEEM strictly as an investment did nothing but HODL it for over a year before finally taking a look at the actual project and what was happening on the blockchain with this social media outlet.

My initial challenges & how I overcame them

My initial challenge was finding out how the whole darn thing worked! But with research and reading many of the how-to articles I figured out how to make my first posts. Since I was into crypto my first posts were about some of the projects I knew about and invested in. I just knew I would have instant success and make a ton of money. Quickly you find out that it takes time, effort, and a lot of friends and community support to make a success.

My Steem blockchain knowledge

I came into Steem knowing a bit about crypto, it wasn't my first introduction. I was into Bitcoin originally and running mining rigs to mine our own BTC. From there we started investing in altcoins and maintaining masternodes and staking wallets. I started dabbling in day trading in the altcoins and this was when I acquired my first STEEM. I felt it had a lot of growth potential for an investment coin. It wasn't until about a year later that I actually came to the Steem blockchain and created an account to begin my Steem journey as a blogger.

My Steem favorites

My main focus on Steem is blogging and there are several options for front end apps to use. I think that my favorite blogging front end app is SteemPeak because I think it is the easiest to use and offers the most tools for the creation and editing of posts and keeping track of your assets and wallet transactions. Steemit, Busy, and eSteem are all good applications as well, it's just a matter of finding which one you like the best. I have used them all.

Generally, I like writing fiction stories and there are tons of contests and ideas for creating blogs to use your writing talents. I also like to do informational posts about travel, restaurant reviews, recipes, and health-related topics. Whatever your interest is, there is a community around it to share your posts and find fascinating articles to read on subjects that interest you.

My golden nugget advice

Don't give up! Like anything in life that is worthwhile, it takes time and effort to become successful. Find the things you enjoy doing and surround yourself with communities that share your interests. And I would suggest QUALITY over QUANTITY. Don't throw something out there every day because you think you need to - make your submissions the very best they can be. Your support will grow and your followers will appreciate you much more if they know they can expect good quality posts from you consistently.

My Steem hood & its peeps

There are so many great communities on Steem. It's really hard to narrow down a small number to be committed to and give the proper attention that they deserve. I belong to many communities but I would say that my main two right now are Power House Creatives and The Alliance. I was an avid participant in Actifit as well, which is a great community of fitness-minded people and a great place to get started with meeting some supportive people and getting your feet wet with making posts.

I have over a thousand accounts I'm currently following and there is so much talent represented here on the Steem blockchain. @jaynie is one of the most prolific writers here, as well as being the founder and leader of Power House Creatives. If you want to read interesting articles and get a clue about how successful blogging can be accomplished, you need to follow her. In fact, you can't go wrong following anyone under the umbrella of PHC!

In conclusion, I'm tagging 5 of my peeps whom I would love to read about THEIR Steem story:
@enginewitty
@crypt-skip
@snook
@kaerpediem
@ambiguity

What a great read, @blueeyes8960. You provided such good ideas for new people who may be looking for advice on how to get this thing in gear!

I love this initiative and all the great posts that are coming out of it. Did @crypt-skip take the bait and write his #mysteem post?

Absolutely LOVE your intro pic!!!!! You look like SUCH A BOSS! hahahaha!!! And Texas Hold'em... now there is an avenue to Steem that I have not yet come across in anyone's posts haha!!!! I LOVE texas hold'em! We often have friends over to play and I also used to play online quite a bit a few years back! Would be really cool to have a PHC poker tournament evening wouldn't it! Never say never... lol!

This is such a fantastic contribution to our initiative @blueeyes8960, thank you! We are VERY blessed to have you as a member of PHC - you really are one of our golden nuggets!! Thank you for the lovely compliment... I would never have described myself that way - but thank you... and thank you for this fantastic post!

You need to come play Texas Holdem with the Brosino group - and we can definitely do a PHC tournament! There's an Alliance 10 Steem tourney every Sunday evening. https://brosinopoker.com/lobby.php but I warn you, it's addictive and they're a good group of people to play with! And thanks for reading and commenting - I know it's a job to get to everyone's post - this was such a cool iniative!
