MY STEEM STORY

A Power House Creatives Initiative

Power House Creatives _night mode.png

Everyone has a story – and all our stories have something in common… we all started from nothing and knew nothing. People want to hear stories. They want to hear OUR stories — they want to know who we are, where we are from, what we are doing, who and what we love, what we have learnt and where we are going. People also want us to hear their story! Being a part of the Steem network is an individual journey for every single one of us and through this initiative we will share our stories not only with all who are already here – hopefully inspiring, guiding and informing them… but doing the same for everyone else in the world too. Through our stories we will prick the curiosity of those who have not yet arrived and illuminate and widen the already open doors to our one in a million blockchain.

We invite and encourage each and every one of you to participate and share your stories too! You can find the "how to" details at the end of this post.

MY STEEM STORY - BY @BDMILLERGALLERY

Sunday, March 4th 2018 ..

I just got into my second cup of coffee and decided to get to work on a small Jeep project. This was my third Jeep and the projects seem to always be the same. This time it would lead me somewhere unknown and life changing. Yes, of course I found the information I was looking for and finished the hood support project I set out to complete, but not without first taking a major detour of sorts. This is where 'My Steem Story' began.

To The Internet I Went ..

Looking for valuable information to guide me in my most recent Jeep project. Where does any not so internet savvy person start looking? Why yes! Google!! Of course the first few pages of add based crap appeared and I rushed right past them. I happened to read something in the first few lines of one of those search results. Whatever it was, and I can't even remember at this point, caught my attention enough to make me click on it. Here I was, reading a blog post about a Jeep, wondering what is this Steemit site? There were adds asking if I wanted to join. Being curious by nature, I booked marked the page and would visit this later on that day. I finished my Jeep project and was sitting down that afternoon, so I began reading up on Steemit. I can't lie, I was a bit skeptical of what this platform was trying to sell me. Everyone is trying to sell something to me.. haha. I clicked on the link to open a free account after approval and a short waiting period. What did I get myself into???

Monday, March 12th, 2018 ..

I got my acceptance email!! My account was approved and steemit was ready for me! I simply logged on and ... From that point I was HOOKED! My inner voice was already asking what benefits could this investment in time and mind energy, could bring to me? How could I implement this into my life? Which lead me to wondering how I could utilize this platform in order to put more of what I know and what I create out there and what can I take away from interacting with others on this platform. Is this going to be another waste of my time..knowing I would be absorbed into sitting at the comp-u-tater and typing away (like I am now .. wink wink)??

No Waste Of Time ..

But it made me think. I for one live to think. I love to be challenged and provoked to think. I am no genius, intelligent prodigy, or anything other than a normal everyday person whom loves to learn and try my hardest to absorb from others and possibly retain information. Everyone has something to teach me, whether it's direct or indirect. This is the cool thing about living life. For the next 2 years, Steemit grew into my life. It challenged me. It made me think. It freed my mind and gave me an outlet for my talents. It made me create, as I found myself painting and drawing more regularly. I was learning new techniques and bettering my painting habits. It made me socialize with others who share similar voices. I was making new friends and broadening my cultural knowledge. It was opening the door to other worlds and cultures. I was growing as a human being, and developing a more solid understanding of what is was to be human.

Since March 12, 2018 ..

I Have Grown To Realize that I am far from a prize blogger. Mediocre at best. I don't let that dissolve my desire to create and to improve. Post after post I am trying to light the fire under my butt. I am a classic procrastinator when it comes to some things, but I am getting better with time. I love to write, and this experience has helped out there too, tons! With every post I am learning more about writing, art, photography, the tech side of it, and most importantly.. I am learning more about the people that engage with me. My Steemit family.

My PowerHouseCreatives Family ..

I have slowly "COLLECTED" a following of a few Steemit friends. I have built relationships. GENUINE individuals who want to see me..us succeed regardless of the upvote value. I now have a support system. A Steemit Family support system that keeps me in line. They lift me up and keep me grounded. They support my 'crap' and my 'brilliance'. A true collection of friendships. That's the COOL thing about Steemit. Regardless of the fluctuations in the price of Steem, I log on to know that my Steemit friends will still be here. Still here posting away, creating, mingling, critiquing, commenting, collaborating, inspiring, and invoking thought. Regardless of how much voting weight I have collected, I have collected sooooo much more. All Of YOU! My Power House Creatives family has been a huge part of that success. Without the committed support of this lovely group of classy individuals, I would probably have given up on Steemit a while ago. They are a REAL family.. an AWESOME family!

Friends, Family & Money ..

Is a weird concept for me to get past. I say to myself, mixing the two can't be good, but somehow it works here. I think it works because we all share a common thread; we love to collect things. It's a unique common thread we humans have.. We love to collect things. For some its coins, others art, some collect antiques, etc. I have yet to meet a person whom collects nothing. Everyone has a little lint in their pockets. Friendship aside, everyday we are collecting Steem. Together we generate Steem Power. Foremost, TOGETHER we will persevere and prevail in keeping Steemit real, breathing, alive and chugging along into the future. Steem links us all together..without it we wave goodbye and journey apart. I for one am not ready to end my time with all of you fine folks. There is way to much to learn yet; about all of you and even about myself.

The Inspiration To Keep Going ..

I hope 'My Steemit Story' inspires a new member to join, an old member to keep active, a lost member to find their way back, and reminds myself not to loose the original vision. I hope this inspires all of us to remember that are "Voice" here on Steemit is an important one. Are voices are not only "Worth" something if we get upvoted, but worth something far more if our content is informative, entertaining, funny, curious, whitey, thought provoking, motivational, or inspiring .. You never do know who's life you could better with blogging. Who knows, it may be yours!

Don't YOU want to be apart of that?

About Me ~ The Artist

My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.

Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.

For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.

No Worries! :-)

I missed a few myself. I have to take a Saturday Morning and go through them. There were a ton of them. Funny thing I did notice though is several of them were voted up by appreciator and other not.. all posted at the same time. Weird. You only notice things like that when something like this mass posting happens. haha.

Have a great day!
