Sorry... It's me and not you | FOTOCELF Contest [Eng-Esp]

Likewise a round of applause for the @aliento project and for @theycallmedan for supporting good initiatives.

Well, respected friends, I would have liked to present you an enjoyable sharing between parrots and humans, but this is not what I could achieve although I "tried my best" but without good results as life in captivity is not fun for anyone.

El Concurso de fotografía FOTOCELF que tiene como tema los animales es una buena ocasión para exaltar la fauna. Igualmente es perfecta la oportunidad para alzar la voz en contra del cautiverio y de los diferentes maltratos hacia muchos animales. Doy gracias a mi madre @parauri por invitarme a concursar y felicito a @camiloferrua y a celf.magazine por este concurso que es una maravillosa oportunidad para los amantes de la vida animal y de la fotografía.

Igualmente un aplauso para el proyecto @aliento y para @theycallmedan por apoyar las buenas iniciativas.

Bien, respetados amigos, me hubiera gustado presentarles un ameno compartir entre loros y humanos, pero esto no es lo que pude conseguir aunque “me esforcé” pero sin buenos resultados pues la vida en cautiverio no es divertida para nadie.

Parrot roulette!... I told him over and over again, while I was behind bars but on the side of freedom. Knowing that no one could have any desire for fun in prison, I still insisted, believing that it would make his day. But neither he, nor any of his parrot cell mates had any reason to be happy.

¡RÚA lorito!… Le dije una y otra vez, mientras yo estaba detrás de los barrotes pero del lado de la libertad. Yo sabiendo que nadie podría tener deseos de diversión estando en una cárcel, igual insistía creyendo que con eso le alegraría el día. Pero ni el, ni ninguno de los loros compañeros de celda tienen motivos para estar feliz.

How to celebrate captivity? It really makes no sense to think of celebrating, having fun and being happy being in a cage every day. Yet, so misguided are we humans by our selfishness that not content with holding prisoners whom we claim to love we still pretend that they are our jesters and do us graces for our amusement. The fatuous thought is: "That they don't have fun is not a problem, it's ours that counts ".

¿Cómo celebrar el cautiverio? La verdad no tiene sentido pensar en celebrar, divertirse y ser feliz estando en una jaula todos los días. Aun así, tan equivocados estamos los humanos por nuestro egoísmo que no conformes con tener prisioneros a quienes decimos amar todavía pretendemos que sean nuestros bufones y nos hagan gracias para nuestra diversión. El fatuo pensamiento es: “Que ellos no tengan diversión no es problema, total la nuestra es la que cuenta”.

Finally I did not insist any more on looking for a funny shot, as that was never going to happen where there was so much sadness. What is really true is that they are not the only ones nor the last parrots that will live like this, if that is living, but we can continue denouncing this deplorable practice.

Finalmente no insistí más en buscar una toma divertida, pues eso nunca iba a suceder donde había tanta tristeza. Lo realmente cierto es que no son los únicos ni los últimos loros que vivirán así, si eso es vivir, pero si podemos seguir denunciando esta deplorable práctica.
