North Dakota House passes bill forbidding mandatory mask wearing
The North Dakota House of Representatives passed a bill on Monday that would make future mask mandates illegal.
The Grand Forks Herald reported that the bill passed 50-44. It next heads to the state Senate.
The bill’s sponsor, state Rep. Jeff Hoverson (R), called mask mandates “diabolical silliness,” characterizing them as a conspiracy run by “unelected, wealthy bureaucrats who are robbing our freedoms and perpetuating lies,” the Herald reported.
Hmm, wondering if he's talking about non-Dr Bill Gates pushing his vaccine propaganda.
According to the newspaper, several GOP supporters of the state bill said they believe that mask wearing does nothing to slow the spread of COVID-19. Multiple health experts, including the nation's top infectious diseases expert, Anthony Fauci, have stated that mask wearing is essential to overcoming the coronavirus pandemic.
Fauci has also said one mask may not be enough to stop the spread of the new covid variants and that's why he's mulling wearing 2 or 3 mask instead of one. So I guess everyone is kind of right that one mask isn't effective enough. Fauci is also protection himself by taking extra Vitamin D and C but won't publicly tell people how effective it is at stopping covid.
This probably won't pass the ND senate but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Nice! I'm in the other "north" and we have no such sensibilities in our government. Over in the eastern part of the state we took matters into our own hands and simply refuse to comply and our sheriff refuses to enforce any sort of mandate passed down by the governor.
We do, however, respect the businesses that require masks due to some internal policy... by not shopping there.
The fact that there is some organized push-back from a legislature is great news. Texas just put an end to mask mandates!

masks give people a sense of security and that helps people to be calmer, so even though wearing them alone is not enough, wearing them is better than wearing nothing at all
