Solo's weekly picks: Gardens

avatar

When I am out and about, I have been seeing peoples crops and gardens popping up around where I live. It is starting to warm up, though today was a frosty morning. But soon that will all be over with. For others around the world they started gardens as well recent, some even had gardens that carried over from last year with temperate enough weather.

Here are five Hive minnows and plankton talking about their gardens:

My Mixed Home Garden Updates || Growing For Sufficiency To Feed The Family by @jude9

Starting a garden in March it has had a little over a month to start forming. Peppers, maize, egg plants and taro is all coming up and they hope to have it up through August with seasonal rainfalls.

https://peakd.com/hive-140635/@bigorna1/vetiver-grass-weekend

Growing a fragrant grass to sell they chop up large clumps that have grown for awhile and break them up to have for sale in a local group. The process is shown how its all done and planting of some of the grass in new spots to form larger plants.

Hydroponic & Greenhouse Update for the First Round by @sunscape

https://peakd.com/hive-140635/@sunscape/hydroponic-and-greenhouse-update-for-the-first-round-by-sunscape

Growing lettuce in a hydroponic setup it has done quite well over the last two months. Amazing you can just put water in the bottom and not need to refill it the whole time. Also some planters are shown off with herbs inside. And lots of little plants coming up in pots soon to be transplanted. Great progress on your garden @sunscape!

Hydroponic Garden Conditions at the End of April 2023 - Time to Harvest Lettuce and Mint Leaves by @isdarmady

Another hydroponic post, but this time a different kind of lettuce and some bok choy is grown as well using hydroponics. Many other things are being grown such as a plant known as Kangkong, I had to look that up and its goes by some other names as well but not sure if I have ever seen it. And mint is being grown as well, great setup there.

Still in the process of treating papaya plants by @munos

https://peakd.com/hive-140635/@munos/still-in-the-process-of-treating-papaya-plants

Growing some papaya plants they are looking quite happy, with large trunks and big fruit the tree is coming along quite nicely. Its always cool to see people growing plants I cannot grow due to cold weather where I live. So best of luck in the warmer regions.

That's my five picks for this week, come back next week to see

Excellent selections related to various plantings in gardens, it is an important option to have our own products, even in the land of our houses, my wife does it at home, so we even season our meals with what it produces. What you do is very good @solominer because this selection not only motivates the creators of said contents, it also motivates everyone, to experience said crops in the surroundings of the home. Thank you for motivating us and for your continued visits to my posts. successes

They sure are, thanks a lot. Very nice, there is nothing better than growing your own food to eat.. even if its just simple spices to season your food with.

Glad to curate.

Man I can't wait for summer and gardening! I am saving up energy by procrastinating due to the cold weather but I will be in it deep before too long.

Awesome gardening posts from around the globe! #gardenjournal #gardenhive #hivegarden are tags and I wonder which is the most active this year.

Me too man, I think the frosts are over around here.. Just dialing in my green house environment and building planters to start growing here.

Hope your garden does well.

I liked your post a lot and you have planted many different types of vegetables in less space. Seeing this, I am getting inspired to do the same.
