Greetings all! Hope the New Year is treating everyone well so far... looks like we may be in for another turbulent year of politics, quarantines and cryptos.

Anyway, this is just a brief "hello" from this new @curatorcat sub-account.

Hello!

But why a SUB-account, Curator Cat? And why a PAL sub-account?

Back in the earliest days when it was called "steem-engine" PAL was the first token many people were airdropped, and I got quite interested in the idea — and potential — of these sidechain communities.

Of course, 100's of people went out and made tokens but I decided to just follow (and stake) a handful that seemed to make sense as free-standing communities.

PAL was one of the ones I followed, in large part because I was a fan of the Minnow Support Project.

Now that Hive is somewhat established, and there's some clarity as to who committed to continue their communities via hive-engine, I decided it was time to branch off and support one of my favorite communities, even if just in a small way.

The why has to do with what I would call targeted content and rewards.

There's always time for a nap!

I might support Leo, Sports, NaturalMedicine, CreativeCoin and PAL... but there's a lot of "wasted voting clout" if I just use my primary account. When I give 10 100% votes a day from my primary account, the voting power from my hive-engine tokens just gets arbitrarily peppered around. I'd rather put it somewhere more meaningful, where it adds value to those who support specific communities with their content.

Truth in disclosure: I already support CreativeCoin and LeoFinance via separate sub-accounts. The point I just made in the previous paragraph is particularly poignant with LeoFinance: The @curatorcat.leo account currently gives upvotes worth about $0.09, while my main @curatorcat account — which I've been building for 2 1/2 years — still only has a $0.007 upvote.

Quite a difference, don't you agree?

It's just a matter of getting the most out of limited resources!

Anyway, to get back to the "main event," this sub-account will be used exclusively to curate/comment from the palnet.io front end and will rarely be a "posting" account, except maybe for a quarterly update.

Yes, of course I am also earning curation rewards... but my greater motivation is that the Hive ecosystem needs more engagement. And that's what this is about.
