V4VApp to El Salvador, status post and other updates
First thing for this new @v4vapp update is the news that @ijatz managed to succefully use lnd.v4v.app to send Hive directly to the El Salvador Chivo wallet. I was very happy to see this transaction go through.
You can see his requesting transactions on the Hive blockchain request & reply:
As you can see, he sent a lightning memo which starts with lnbc19440n1psh... along with a transfer of 1.8 Hive. This was done via the lnd.v4v.app site by copying and pasting that Lightning invoice. This all happened in the space of 25 Hive blocks which is around 75 seconds.
I'm still working on the companion method of sending Sats in and receiving Hive or HBD. That is being worked on.
Streaming Sats
It is possible to send Sats and receive Hive but this works via the Streaming Sats on Podcasting 2.0. As I'm typing this I'm listening to @theycallmedan, @starkerz and @marketingmonk on Curiocaster and I'm streaming 20 sats/min!
And a peak behind the scenes: this is my internal diagnostic system showing that because I'm still listening to the show (ongoing_session: true) the payments are stacking up and when I stop listening (or pause for 5 minutes) the 302 sats received will be converted to Hive and DM'd to @theycallmedan. The all_r_hash is a list of the cryptographic identifiers of each payment of sats my Lightning node has received. The total has gone up to 377 Sats as I've been typing.
One enhancement we need to build is something that's already being worked on in the rest of the Value 4 Value system in Podcasting 2.0 which is routing of payments to different recipients. In the future I want Dan and Starkerz's guests to be able to get a cut of the proceeds.
Fees explained and available on Hive
There's now a simple and always up to date way to see the fees associated with converting Hive to Sats on Hive. This page updates itself.

We're still working on the Podcaster's back end on @threespeak. There's a couple of last tweeks to the way categories are handled which I want done but if you're on 3speak you can take a look at it now.
Lightning to Hive
I'm continuing to work on this but I'm learning a lot more about which Lightning system to use as there are multiple ways of doing this. I can foresee how useful this could be in somewhere like El Salvador.

The development continues. It's awesome seeing that this now works in the real world and how it can actually start having a meaningful impact on Podcasting in general. Makes me want to look into doing a Podcast of my own. Keep up the great work! It's much appreciated by us HIVE holders.

Do you know if some Spanish-speaking podcasters are already streaming sats through Podcasting 2.0?
I'm envisioning that we could record a couple of our induction sessions with rural Salvadorans to what's BTC and how to use a LN wallet, that could serve as educative material for other Latin American countries, in particular if they set up similar p2p cryptoeducation processes.

Estuve a cargo por unos años de una Red ecológica, y sería estupendo lograr vincular más procesos como él de "V4VApp", que remuneran con satoshis los creadores de podcasts, con campesinos, biólogos y amantes de la diversidad biológica que a veces pierden batallas por falta de recursos económicos.
Si eso sería maravilloso pero sabes no logro hacer el enlace entre este app y la chivo wallet, como lograste eso, me ayudas con ello esto es una útil herramienta que nos apoyaría mucho como país.
Y si estoy tratando de zonificar e identificar todas las plantas que tenemos sean medicinales o medicinales para uso de nuestro país.

Si eres de otra nacionalidad, no cambia mucho pero tendrás que utilizar otra app de Lightning Network, como Breeze o Muun, ya que Chivo requiere que ingresáramos los datos del DUI.

🙋🏼♂️ I know a lot of people get more and more interested in the El Salvador BTC project. There is a very famous german finance YouTuber who will fly over soon to visit and do some research on it and he was just interviewed in a Handelsblatt Podcast (kind of the german Financial Times). He even setup his own lightning node to pay with no intermediates between him and El Salvador shops etc.
