I bought a gourd today. It was orange and green, and, beautiful, in a gourdy sort of way. Did you know that gourds are of different colors, shapes, and sizes? Right now, the local farmers are just beginning to harvest them, which they must do before frost, although, we are in no fear of that. They are picked in stages, so there won't be too many on the market, driving the price down.
The one I got today was pretty cool looking, but, a little dirty from the fields. He is all bright and shiny now. I love all different kinds of pumpkins and gourds, but, I think these large orange and green gourds are my absolute favorite. Look at the one below: as the gourd matures, the stem turns brown and dries up.
Pumpkins!!! Who doesn't love pumpkins? Pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice latte? Pumpkin bread! Oh, the glorious pumpkin. Wait! Pumpkin Spice Latte. I had one of those today. Simply decadent!
Words and using them. It is nice to have a fresh voice, day in, day out. But the charm of elevating this day trumps finding another to take its place. Have you seriously tried to feel autumnal in this season of post-summer warmth? Happy are those that did. My joy still lay in the beauty of the bloom. And she is still beautiful despite her seasonal differences to mine.
Flowers. There must always be flowers. #alwaysaflower Reach out and color me, oh, color me in a shade of love... Divinely so. Pure. Joy. Affection. Caring. Sharing. Inspiring. Sweetness. Warm. Tenderness. Fun. The eternal love of a mother. My heart feels wrapped in love and tied with a bow of hugs. Just for today: Mums the word.
Between autumn trying to give us a show and the trees refusing to drop their leaves, or even color them for that matter, I have decided to out them instead and give #TreeTuesday a turn at trying to make all that is wrong, a little bit right. Celebrate the tree as I walk through the forest, listening to the shuffle of the trees as I walk through the leaves.
Listen to that music in your heart, covering your soul with a blanket of delight. Oh, yes! You would never know that the yellow tree is the only color that is showing off at the moment. At the moment, the color is so inconsistent! How about where you are? are you green or in color or somewhere in between?

Nowadays I try to be consistent. Both with posting and commenting, and on gaming too (mostly Splinterlands). But I (and many other people are) professionals at being inconsistent with my/their activity. I mean that we do not always do these things every day. Although I often wish that I should have played Splinterlands every day since I started playing it (on 2018.12.30), and I should not have sold any of my cards.
Although my card pack is currently still worth $556.96 USD.
Every season has its beauty, even winter, although it is unfriendly in many countries (for example in my country, in Hungary) by being so cold.

Great shots! I am a gourd lover from way back. I like the different varieties. I swear they have some ones now that they didnt when I was a kid selling them via wagon door to door. We use to varnish them and make them shiny. I should try my hand at it again this year perhaps!

Not at all! I didn't like pumpkin for years, but, then found ways to make it taste delicious. It is not an American thing actually, it is a worldwide problem. :) It is a squash and they are eaten the world over. Probably because they are so easy to grow and they are abundant.
We love butternut squash and eat some form of squash every day. We had zucchini muffins with breakfast and I put some in the chili I made for dinner. The lumpy gourds are exactly that, imperfectly beautiful. Thank you for stopping by. I have no idea where all my time goes lastely.

After I wrote that comment I realized that I made pumpkin leathers last season and they were DELICIOUS. So I guess I'm not totally against them. We have a problem with bugs stinging them so growing them makes me also less prone to eating them....
I don't blame you! In all honesty, there are so many squashes out there, it makes no sense to focus on ones that don't work that well for some reason! It's all good, woman! :)
Umm... I think your gourd may have leprosy. ha ha.... I love all the knotty odd fun gourds. You see so many more kinds now than way back when.
I haven't accepted autumn yet, but I'm trying. Maybe I will pull my Fall box of decor doodads out this evening and put a thing or two around. Then maybe it will start sinking in. My mind is still trying to hold on to summer mode. That was not easy this morning when I sat up on the side of the bed and it was still mostly dark. Ugh....
Not too much color on the trees here yet, but I did notice there are a few red tinged leaves in the top of my little dogwood in the front yard. Won't be long now !
Take a drive up into the mountains. If I want color, I have been heading for the hills. In my case, I can have several different mountain ranges. LOL
I have not accepted it as true yet either. I am still hanging onto to summer for as long as I can.

My house is gourded up too. I also went for the orange with green droplets. They are my fave this year.

Pumpkins are beautiful with its color and shape, also used different type of food and recipes. Its one of the common vegetables that used to eat almost every country. Have a nice day with tree tuesday.
It is one of the most common vegetables in the world, in my opinion. Easy to grow and very abundant in nutrition!

Pumpkins! Pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread are one of my favourite treats of the season. I also make a tasty pumpkin soup! Mmmm. Perfect for a rainy day.
The Amish up in Lancaster County sell them inexpensively. They used to be Dirt Cheap, but with the cost of everything going up, they're now just Less Expensive. I'm looking forward to my annual pilgrimage up that way to collect a bounty of them.
My dad is from Lancaster County! I get my pumpkins up there and usually go up for the harvest at the end of the summer. Meet you up there! :)
They're definitely the best pumpkins! I remember upsetting one particular Mennonite farmer when I wouldn't buy his prize pumpkin, though. It must have been 4 or 5 tonnes. It was huge. I wasn't sure it'd even fit in my van with the kids in it.
Gourds I always found quite exciting... Never knoow what you really are going to get with one, but the colors and shapes, inspire imagination and creativity! ❤️🙏
