Hirvonen to be in ice note crew of Kalle Rovanpera for Monte Carlo Rallye 2021

Hi, friends!

Mikko Hirvonen from Finland won 15 World Rally Championship events but he also won Monte Carlo Rallye in 2011 when this event was part of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge which was organized by Eurosport Events (today's promoter of European Rally Championship).

When I heard that he was chosen by Subaru in 2004 to replace Richard Burns instead of Colin McRae, I couldn't believe because he was really unknown in the world of rallying, although he already had some results with private Ford in 2003.

But what fans wanted was to see Colin McRae in Subaru again and David Richards, the boss of Prodrive Subaru team, didn't let this happen. He put young Hirvonen into the 2nd works Subaru Impreza WRC.

He didn't have results with Subaru so he got fired after that season buy he did good with private Ford in 2005.

If we watch closer, his best results were with Ford and two seasons with Citroen he scored only 0ne win. Nothing else.

Through whole his WRC career Jarmo Lehtinen was his co-driver and helped him with the victories.

Now Mikko Hirvonen will be the ice note crew driver for a young Toyota driver Kalle Rovanpera to help him with the snow and ice notes before every special stage pass.

Yeah, that's the job of top guys when they retire from the top rallying.
