Blast from the past - WRC Safari Rally 1988

Hi, friends!

Today we go into the group A era of rallying when Lancia really dominated the rallying world with their model HF Integrale group A. I think that that was my top rally car of all times. I just liked how it looks and the engine sound which was brilliant.

Lancia had Massimo Biasion, Italian who drove for his national team and their people liked him very much. He brought two WRC titles to them and he was also the last Italian World Rally Champion. We are talking here about seasons 1988 and 1989 when he won both crowns.

Safari Rally is one of the toughest events in WRC with special stages long around 100km and where you drive most of the way at the limiter in 6th gear. Precision and concentration are crucial on these type of stages.

Safari is also very rough rally where you also must be clever driver if you want to finish. I mean, what does it mean to be fast on one or two special stages when you won't finish the rally.

To win, you must first finish the rally. That's the rule.

Enjoy this piece of history...
