My Week in Pictures - 366 Project 2020

Good morning Hive world and I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

Here an update of my photographic journey for the past week whilst undertaking a photo-a-day project for 2020.

A varied mix this past week with some portraiture of my son, lightpainting (obviously) and a fair few star shots as the night sky here in the UK has been beautifully clear. I hope you enjoy my creations and take care of yourselves :)

For such a happy chap I do tend to portray him photographically as a moody wee dude. He's the happiest person I know :)

We had half an hours football in the back garden after lunch in the sunshine and I grabbed a quick snap once we'd finished. He got megsed the most :)

Top times and something which wouldn't have happened were it not for this lock down.

You can't move for bubble macro photography tutorials on Youtube at the moment so I thought I'd have a go.
I started out trying my hand and after I started to get satisfactory results I decided to switch to bulb, set up the softbox in the front room and do a double.
Riley's silhouette first then moved to tripod 2. Swapped lenses to macro and lit the bubble from above with another softbox.
Single long exposure and all that Jazz.

Quick faff with Riley's Stormtrooper and the dlw.
Lit the figure from left and right in the www.lightpaintingbrushes.com blue filter attachment. After that a couple of passes with the dlw.

I'm really yearning for a tunnel adventure at the moment but as there are none within walking distance so an old shot from my favourite tunnel will have to do.
Macro shot of my phone screen from my fave tunnel. Cap on, lens swap to Nikon 20mm and rotated a droplet bitmap on tripod 2 a full 360.
When all this is over I shall be spending a great deal of time beneath the ground :)

111.366.2020. Spiraling Down.

I found my mini tunnel in the shed the other day. Not a sentence you get to use very often. It comprises of a large coffee tin with the bottom cut out attached to some cool plastic core Mr De Luna gave me a long while back.
I took one of Riley's toys and framed everything up before using the lp brushes orange and blue filters to light the scene through a veil of vape.
I opted for a bit of split toning to really accentuate the lighting on this one in Lightroom.

I went outside for some star/meteor action tonight, only to be greeted by high cloud so I switched from 20mm to 135mm to find a gap in the clouds.
I had a bit of a play at 20mm first as I bought that lens for astro landscape stuff. I haven't used it for that purpose too much so thought I'd spend this time to work out its strengths and weaknesses and how to avoid the dreaded coma.
I do enjoy this type of photography but I'd prefer a little foreground interest. That time will come :)

About 82 20 second star shots and 1 for the foreground.

Trying to blend the two elements was a little tricky but I got close enough.
