Come Home child.

15.Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16.He longed to fill his belly with the pods the pigs were eating, but no one
17.Finally he came to his senses and said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have plenty of food? But here I am, starving to death! Luke 15:15-17

Listening to this song/hymn "Justly and tenderly Jesus is calling, calling for you and for me..." got me think of the fate of the father of the prodigal son. He must have had sleepless nights thinking about the welfare of his son whom he sent out upon his demand. But where did he go wrong? Or do you think that the father of the prodigal son should have perhaps denied him that wish by keeping him in his home (family house) against his wish?

This is just me think aloud. But do you that that Christ is praying and wishing that we would return home as His children? I would believe that the father to the prodigal son had persuaded him not to leave on the said day and or perhaps must have told him not always come by in case he was out of supply. I can even believe also that the dad must have sent messages upon messages to him to return but he was adamant.

Hence, rather than swallow his pride and return to the fathers house where the supply abound, the young man preferred going to attach himself to a citizen of that country, hoping that things will fall in place for him. But did things really fall in place for him as he had planned? Can we quickly relate this to our lives where we want to do things along without involving God. When was the last time that you said a prayer to God about your needs hoping that He'll supply? Or do we like the prodigal son depend on that mortal man to help us out of that problem when God actually is a call away?

15.Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

The scripture records However, things became tougher for the young man even more than he had anticipated. And he for once he started regaining his understanding as he was heard saying that this is not what he deserved. The scriptures records in the verse below that the young man's hopes and expectations got shattered because the pods of the pigs he had thought of eating was not available.

16.He longed to fill his belly with the pods the pigs were eating, but no one

I could imagine how he must have felt staying three to five days without food, yet the pigs had what to eat and he was closely monitored by the owner of the farm to ensure that he did not take the food for himself. This was a message that he learnt the bitter way. Now if I may ask,
Is there a thing that you are longing for with you haven't got answers to?
Is there a relationship that you have given your all and it's still not working, yet you're still hanging on to it?
The truth is that you can't make alive what God actually wants to kill. Selah

Hunger indeed was a motivating factor that cause the prodigal son to get back first to his senses and the later return to his father's house. Do you know that this young man seem to have lost his sense the very day he stepped out of the door of his father's house? But I thank God that he regained it by the hunger.

Now do you know that as Christians, we should me sensitive in the spirit as they could be signs which God gives to us that we fail to decode. What if the repeated heartbreaks, abuses, molestation, sleepless nights are indicator that the land we are staying is not safe? What if God is not in support of choice of career or course of study, marriage partner, choice of friends, actions and inaction and wants us to let go?

Beloved, I do not know why this message came, but I know that it is for someone here. The message is simple and can be summarized thus: "Come home". I do not want you to hurt yourself any further staying in that relationship that isn't working, indulging in that act that is ungodly. Please come back to your father, there's much for everyone.

Do not harden your heart no more, but hearken to this call, Jesus is calling on you and I.

Do bot harden your heart therefore or keep wasting your money over what is not milk, honey or wine, when you have the best in your fathers house and it's totally free.
