2nd Timothy 2:19-21
KJV:Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

KJV:But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.

KJV:If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

A lot of Christians today take the concept of dedication as being outdated or archaic. We even forget that the Bible says that anything dedicated to God has God's seal of ownership on it.
We lack the knowledge of the efficacy of dedication and the power behind it that's why we often take it for granted.we must know that when we dedicate something, someone or an object to God, it automatically becomes his responsibility and possession.

This is why children are often dedicated to God because there is nothing that the devil is involved in that ever ends well. If you don't dedicate what you have to God, you are indirectly inviting the devil to be in charge of that thing and that can be disastrous..

For any dedication to be complete in God's sight, there must be a sacrifice to backup the item dedicated. This act of sealing our dedication with a sacrifice is what proofs commitment.
Remember that Hannah handed over Samuel to God and she sealed that with the three bullocks and other gift items that she took along with her. Now you see Clearly that only few prophets can compare to Samuel. When you sealed with a covenant of dedication, demons and it's agent, will be afraid of you..The devil too will see the seal of God's covenant on you and will proclaim with their lips that you are God's own..
