Add Work to Your Faith

Oftentimes, we hear people say they are waiting on God or waiting for the appointed time. Of course, it is very good to wait on the Lord and His appointed but the question is, what are you doing while waiting and having expectations on God? Are you putting your faith to work or you are just lazying around?

I heard a story of two people who received a prophecy that either of them would be a king of a particular village. One after receiving the prophecy was very happy and proud, he started posing around as a king. He had no formal education, no skill, no business etc.

It didn't bother him to go and be productive as well as build capacity. All he was concerned about was the fact that he would become a king in the future and he will control anything. He had faith but did no work and that eventually didn't land him well.

On the other hand, the other man upon hearing the prophecy saw it as a motivation to be successful. He built and developed himself in all aspects and improved upon what he was doing. He didn't lazy around. Although, he had faith of being a king, he still worked.

A time came when a king was being needed in the community as the former passed on. As you would have guessed, the one who developed himself was being chosen because he appeared ready and fit for the position unlike the other fellow.

That opportunity will definitely come your way but will you be ready to grab it? God's appointed time will come but will you be fit and prepared to take up the responsibility?

The time of waiting is a time to work and pray. It is a time to equip and develop yourself. It is a time to position yourself very well such that when the time comes, you won't be found wanting like the five foolish virgins. Though they were waiting for the bridegroom, they were not fully equipped and as a result, they were cast out.

So, it is not about waiting on God, it is about what you do while waiting. Don't wait foolishly, don't just have faith but you are not putting your hands to work. Faith without work is so dead. So, add work to your faith.

This is what will land you well in the end. God hates laziness that's why He says, "He will bless the works of your hands". Implying that if you don't do something with your hands, there's nothing He will bless.

Change your mindset and attitude!!

God bless you

Yeah, one can work without faith. However, when you see one that works with faith, the difference is always clear.
