I am pleased to share the activities that I carry out at Rotary Lechería El Morro as part of our dedication to the Community of the Fishing Village of the City of Lechería, Anzoátegui, Venezuela.

Rotary Lechería El Morro, develops one of the 6 areas of interest of the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, such as Education and alphabetization, sponsors at its headquarters the Education and Intellectual Development of children with its most important allies Public Library Dr Jesús Márquez de Lechería, Fundación Papagayos y Scouts Juan Pablo II. The Dr. Jesús Márquez Public Library and the Papagayo Foundation, with a beautiful staff, both volunteers and employees, promote educational support to the children of the community during the week in terms of directed tasks, readings, leveling classes, religion, didactic games, workshops art and chess, music workshops, literacy, vacation plans, sports and recreation among others.
Rotary Lechería El Morro, desarrolla una de las 6 áreas de interés de la Fundación Rotaria de Rotary International, como Educación y alfabetización, patrocina en su sede la Educación y Desarrollo Intelectual de los niños con sus aliados más importantes Biblioteca Pública Dr. Jesús Márquez de Lechería , Fundación Papagayos y Scouts Juan Pablo II. La Biblioteca Pública del Dr. Jesús Márquez y la Fundación Papagayo, con un hermoso personal, tanto voluntarios como empleados, promueven el apoyo educativo a los niños de la comunidad durante la semana en términos de tareas dirigidas, lecturas, clases de nivelación, religión, juegos didácticos, talleres de arte y ajedrez, talleres de música, alfabetización, planes de vacaciones, deportes y recreación entre otros.

The Public Library “Dr. Jesús Márquez ”founded on October 10, 1987, was born as an initiative of the Rotary Club de Lechería and the committee of Rotary ladies whose name pays tribute to Dr. Jesús Márquez, who in life was an outstanding professional in the field of journalism in Venezuela and in gratitude for the collaboration given by his wife, Dr. Gioconda de Márquez (Director of the El Tiempo newspaper) in the provision and operation of the library in its beginnings. In 1989, an agreement was signed between the Rotary Club de Lechería and the Coordination of the Network of Public Libraries of the Anzoátegui State.
Currently, Rotary Lechería El Morro continues to actively support the Public Library in providing its services to the community.
La Biblioteca Pública “Dr. Jesús Márquez” fundada el 10 de octubre de 1987, nace como iniciativa del Rotary Club de Lechería y el comité de damas rotarias cuyo nombre le rinde homenaje Dr. Jesús Márquez, quien en vida fuera un destacado profesional en el campo del periodismo de Venezuela y en agradecimiento a la colaboración prestada por su esposa la Dra. Gioconda de Márquez (Directora del Periódico El Tiempo) en la dotación y puesta en funcionamiento de la biblioteca en sus inicios. En el año 1989, se firma un convenio entre el Rotary Club de Lechería y la Coordinación de la Red de Bibliotecas Públicas del Estado Anzoátegui.

Actualmente, Rotary Lechería El Morro continúa apoyando activamente a la Biblioteca Pública en la prestación de sus servicios a la comunidad.

In November 2018, a new organization, the Scouts John Paul II Group, joins in supporting the children of the fishing village, begins its operation at our headquarters, with the honor of being Rotary Lechería El Morro its sponsors and cooperators. immediate.
Every Saturday the Scouts John Paul II (Scouts without Uniforms), groups children, especially from the fishing village to carry out their educational activities and strengthening leadership as well as discipline and teamwork, guided by their leaders and teacher scouts the which deserve great recognition for being involved in the comprehensive development of these children and youth.
En noviembre del año 2018, una nueva organización, el Grupo Scouts Juan Pablo II, se suma a apoyar a los niños de la aldea de pescadores, comienza su funcionamiento en nuestra sede, con el honor de ser Rotary Lechería El Morro sus padrinos y cooperadores inmediatos.

Cada día sábado los Scouts Juan Pablo II (Scouts sin Uniforme), agrupa a niños, en especial procedentes de la aldea de pescadores para realizar sus actividades educativas y fortalecimiento de liderazgo así como disciplina y trabajo en equipo, guiados por sus líderes y maestros scouts los cuales merecen un gran reconocimiento por ser participes en el desarrollo integral de estos niños y jóvenes.
