KEEPING YOUR MIND ON THE WORD OF GOD.

So much is determined by what you dwell on. The Psalmist in Psalm 119:97 proclaimed – “Oh how I love Thy law, it is my meditation all day”. If you learn to dwell on God’s Word and make it your meditation all the day; the Spirit of the Word will catch up with you and your spiritual life will be ignited for fruitful living. Jesus was very emphatic about the Spirit behind the Word, when He proclaimed in John 6:63 –

“The Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit and are life”.

If you dwell on filthy things that work to pacify the flesh, your life will end up in corruption. There are movies and magazines that work to pollute the mind; if you dwell on them, you cannot be upright before God. What you keep seeing, what you keep hearing and the type of association you keep; goes a long way to determine the state of your heart.

Guarding your heart with all diligence is factored primarily by staying mindful of what you allow your heart to dwell on. If you are diligent enough to fill your heart with God’s Word, a life of holiness will cease to be a struggle. If you insist on dwelling on mind corrupting movies and associations, you will not find the highway of holiness an easy one.

It is also clear from the book of Isaiah 33:24, that your habitation determines what you say. So much has to do with what you allow your heart to dwell on. You cannot be seen to be talking weakness when your heart is anchored on the life strengthening Word of God.

The Bible says – “Let the weak say I am strong”.

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust”. Psalm 91:1-2.

The secret place of prayer where you dwell determines the power in your voice. Talking to gain heaven’s attention and to command the devil’s respect is all factored by your activities in the secret place of the Most High; the place of prayer. Habitation matters!
