AGREEMENT OF FAMILIES IN PRAYER
19.Again, I tell you truly that if two of you on the earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19.
One thing that is becoming a problem in many homes and families now is lack of understanding and agreement in purpose and values. Can you imagine the success of a house that is divided against itself? The truth is that this is virtually impossible.
This is so because the Bible tells us in the Gospel according to Matthew 12:25 that:
25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
If this is true as spoken by Jesus, then, it draws to one fact - couples, families ought to agree in prayers cause there would be no need praying in the first place if there is no agreement among the two parties praying.
Now, imagine that a newly wedded couple that are expectant of being blessed by the Lord with the fruit of the womb. Imagine the husband praying for God to bless him with a male child as the first born, so that he could have assurance of having an heir upon his departure from this sinful world.
Imagine on the other hand, the wife prayer against the husband's initial prayer. For her, she may be praying to have a female child first instead of a male which is her husband's wish. For her, her reason may be because she needs someone that would help her out in the kitchen as the male child would not be allowed to do so in a male dominated society.
So, at this point of disagreement in prayer of their needs, if you were to be an angel assigned by God to bring answers to their prayer, be honest with your opinion, whom among the two who you have answered his prayer?
