The Heart of a Worshiper

One of the most beautiful thing The creator treasures is the heart of worship. God can do all things but there is one thing which He can not do and counts on His creations to do; that is worshiping Himself. God can not worship himself , so whenever He identifies a heart of worship in a worshiper, He goes all out for it.

1 Peter 2:9(KJV)
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

The fundamental purpose of God creating man was a relationship by worship. From creation in the garden of Eden, God had always come down in the cool of the day to fellowship with man.

Genesis 3:8
And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

God cherishes worship so much that He moves whenever we worship Him. The sacrifices of God are a contriat spirit and a broken heart. This brings us to the question of who is a worshiper and what worship really is?

I would say worship is the reference, the awe, the expression of absolute love towards a being presumed or known to be great and in control of events and situations. A worshiper is someone who always ascribe reasons, events and victories to a source usually a supreme being.

The heart of a worshiper is a place where everything means nothing and everything can be given to show loyalty and devotion.
Judges 11:30,39 1 Samuel 1:11 .

As Christians, worship is not limited to the act in the congregation or assembly of believers, it has a lot to do with our lifestyle and motives behind what we do. Our words, acts, thoughts in the private as well as the public places should give glory to God which is the end point of worship.

So the heart of a worshiper is one who doesn't wait for a time and place of worship to give glory to God, but seizes every opportunity that present itself to glorify God.
When we give to our fellow man, we glorify God. When we give to the poor, we glorify God, we we serve humanity and the country we glorify God.

God wants us all to have the heart of a worshiper for our own good. Here is one result of glorifying God; He brings down His blessings and gives us what we didn't even ask for. 1 Kings 3:1-14.

Father, we thank you for today's word. We ask that you give us a heart like Jesus's heart; always seeking for your glory. Help us to put you first in all that we do in Jesus Name! Amen
