Devotional: bring out the good from the good treasure of your heart

avatar

In truth, I always characterized myself as an extremely strong and tough man of character. My way of speaking was so harsh that I felt the harsh words leave my heart. This caused me many problems within the family nucleus and disturbed the relationship in my marriage. When you don't know Christ, what is in your heart is negative emotions like anger, resentment, and that leads you to react like an angry person. What came out of my heart was not good, I just did not have the love of Christ and spoke roughly.

34 !! Generation of vipers! How can you speak good things, being evil? Because of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man brings good things out of the good treasure of the heart; and the bad man, from the bad treasure he takes bad things.
Matthew 12: 34-35 King James Version (RVR1960)

The word is clear and it says very well that the bad man brings out the bad in his heart. That was what happened to me in all the time I lived without Christ. The words that came out of my mouth were corrupted words because that was exactly what was inside of me.

What happens when a person receives Christ in the heart?

The Scriptures confirm that God pours his love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, which makes the person begin to generate a process of change in his life. The angry is left behind and the inner man who lives in us begins to be transformed.

and hope does not shame; because the love of God has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5: 5 King James Version (RVR1960)

When the Holy Spirit began a process of changes in my life, I began to be more loving, caring, and sweet with my family. I no longer spoke to them with grotesque words that came from my heart. I understood that something new was happening in me, when I began to treat people well and speak to them with more education and love.

The Holy Spirit being poured into me, began to transform my heart and turn it into a true treasure, in which I was placing that precious fruit that has 9 important components that guarantee changes in a Christian, which are mentioned by the apostle Paul in the following biblical potion:

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 meekness, temperance; against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5: 22-23 King James Version (RVR1960)

I could understand that the changes I was experiencing were the product of the direct action of the Holy Spirit in my life, which helped me to speak with sweet and loving words. Little by little my heart was filled with spiritual fruit, and when I spoke the good words that came out of my mouth, they came from the good treasure of my heart, which contains the 9 components of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

This experience is wonderful. Every believer must know the changes that God makes in their lives and above all, that the words that come out of his mouth come from the treasure of his heart. If we are truly servants of Christ, the words that come from our hearts must be good words, because in Christ we have a new birth.
