DESTINY TRUNCATED

After the birthright exchange, something again happened but this time, Isaac was already old,m with dim eyes. He then called Esau his eldest son, and said now that he is old and doesn't know the day of his death that he should please go to the field, and take me some food and meat that he may eat and bless him before death takes him.

27:5 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.

But Rebekah did something, she went ahead to tell Jacob her son and told him to obey her and di whatever she says. She then told him to go and bring from the flocks two good kids of the goats for her to cook for Isaac the way he loves it and that Jacob will take it to their father so that he may bless him instead of Esau.

27:11-12 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man. My father peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon me, and not a blessing.

But this cunny mother told him not to worry but firstly go and bring the goats. After preparing it, Rebekah took Esau's cloth and put them on Jacob to wear and she put the skins of the goats that wete killed on his hands and neck just for his body to feel like that of Esau. Imagine that. And Jacob went to his father, and said, "Father, I am Esau your first born and I have done what you asked so rise and eat of my venison, that your soul may bless me."

27:20-23 And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me. And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not. And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him.

Isaac must have felt that something wasn't right but since he couldn't see well, he had no choice than to bless him and that was how Esau's blessings again became that of Jacob. May our blessings and destinies not be truncated in Jesus name. Amen.
