An Unexamined Life
2 Corinthians 13:5; Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you unless, of course, you fail the test?
Examinations are crucial aspects of life, it helps you know where you have reached, what you are lacking, what you are inadequate in, what you need to work on to build yourself and how best you may be able to go about it by focusing on the weak points more.
It is for this same reason why we write regular exams in school, it is the same reason why our verse today is asking us to examine ourselves as we go through life to test our faiths, re-evaluate our life in Christ and grow in faith.
He who does not examine his life, or he who does not like examinations probably fears the growth that is coming or is certainly aware that progress has not been made. Are you afraid to fail the test? Then that is already a question mark.
