FOCUS ON THE DELIVERER!

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. - Psalms 34:19"

Reading the opening scripture should encourage believers in Christ Jesus to keep pressing on in the midst of challenges or afflictions. The Holy Spirit wants us to focus on Jesus Christ, the Deliverer, because there is a sure Word that He will deliver us from all our afflictions or difficulties.

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. - Hebrews 12:2

When we focus on the Deliverer, He gives us more grace to overcome our obstacles. However, when we focus on the afflictions or challenges, It creates doubt, fear, and anxiety in us which robs us of our faith and our ability to receive grace to overcome. Hence, we complain, murmur, and feel self-pity, which prolong the afflictions and draw us back in the faith; they may even rob us of our joy in Christ, which is our strength

...This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength! - Nehemiah 8:10b

Beloved, are you going through any afflictions or challenges? What do you think you must do to overcome them? The bible urges that we should let our request be known to God with Prayers and thanksgiving!

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. - Philippians 4:6

A popular hymn says "...oh what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer."

Jesus' command on the above subject is found in John 15:7

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you

His condition to solve life's challenges is a function of where you reside. Brethren, where are you? If you abide in Christ your focus will be on Him who can deliver to the uttermost. I charge you therefore today to link up with the great Deliverer afresh!

Prayer point.

Lord, hear my cry today, and attend to my case. Your word says my help comes from You. I look up to You therefore, and I am strengthened in my inner man, and I am delivered from all my troubles. The Lord of Hosts is Your name. Amen.
