Devotion Today: Building A Permanent Place

I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever. — 1 Kings 8:13 (KJV).

God,in His mercy revealed to man the need for us to have an everlasting abode for Him. This is expressed here by Solomon's statement. Thus,this is a physical picture of God's design for the consecration of our hearts as a dwelling place for God forever. God is a Spirit,His glory can manifest in the physical but He doesn't occupy a physical space but a spiritual one.

The Almighty God wants to dwell in our hearts forever. Will you build a house in your heart for Him to dwell forever? Physical structures are wonderful. Acquiring large portions of land is glorious. But is God having a dwelling place in us?

Today,make a decision to create a permanent place for Christ in your heart. Let the struggles cease. Let the fear vanish away. Let the entanglement with sin be destroyed. Let self be crucified. This is the time for the presence of God to overwhelm our spirits. It's the time in which God's authority has come to stay in our lives. Are you ready for this next level of the move of God?

I bind every spirit of distractions,in Jesus name. Amen. Take some time and tell God to come and make your heart His dwelling place forever.

Abba Father, thank you for the privilege to have you in our lives. Please forgive us for pushing you away by our attitudes, lo these years. Please come and dwell in us permanently, our hearts are yours forever, in Jesus name. Amen.
