THE YEARS IN THE DESERT

avatar

Deuteronomy 2
2 Then we returned and went out into the desert, on the way to the Red Sea, as Jehovah had told me; and we surrounded Mount Seir for a long time.
2 And Jehovah spoke to me, saying:
3 You have surrounded this mountain enough; turn north.
4 And command the people, saying: Passing through the territory of your brothers the sons of Esau, who live in Seir, they will be afraid of you; but you keep yourselves very much.
5 Do not mess with them, because I will not give you of their land or even what is covered by the sole of a foot; For I have given Esau Mount Seir as an inheritance.
6 You shall buy food for them for money, and you shall eat; and you shall also buy water from them, and drink;
7 For Jehovah your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands; He knows that you walk through this great desert; These forty years Jehovah your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing ...

It is very important that the people remember the fidelity of God, we must keep our hearts in fidelity to God in the middle of any desert because surely He never abandons us God always extends his hand to show us his mercy.

The human being has always been characterized by not appreciating the good until it is lost and this implies in all areas of people's lives.
In this marked text we can read and interpret the rebellion of the Israelites against God by disobeying what God had proposed to him and this really led him to destruction.

From the Bible we know that God had given Moses order after he led the people out of Egypt and that they had gone out into the desert, on the way to the Red Sea to turn north, but as always God gave him some guidelines to follow that obviously they violated disobeying the God and for this reason they are defeated and pushed to destruction.

This really teaches us that the people of God must hear when God speaks and abide by all his ordinances because disobedience and rebellion is what has put man in rebellion against God....

Hence the importance and the need to follow God with all our hearts and obey his commands.
God gave him all the provisions that the people of Israel needed in the desert. They had nothing, but this was not enough for a stubborn and rebellious people.

In the same way, God has also blessed us in all the crises that have been presented to us. His hand has never failed us and even so we are ungrateful and we do not give glory to God but many go after other foreign gods.

Today we have to live a very difficult desert but we trust God to kill fear because the blood that Jesus shed on the cross of Calvary has the power to destroy any giant, nobody is greater and almighty than Him.
