We are the light to the Gentiles

[44] And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God. [45] But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. [46] Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. [47] For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying , I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. [48] And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. [49] And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region.
Many Jews were furious against the preaching of the Gospel to the extent they would not want to hear it, but leave the synagogue whenever Paul was preaching. They were not ashamed to cause biases in the minds of others against the Gospel and they publicly affirmed their contempt in Jesus Christ and of the doctrine and law.
On the other hand, the Gentiles were ready to receive the Gospel. They have heard about the doctrine of Jesus Christ but did not understand what they heard and could not really remember all they heard. So, they wanted to know more in details about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and they begged for the Gospel to be preached to them.
Therefore, the Gentiles were out in mass on the next Sabbath to listen to the word of God which made the Jews jealous. The Jews stood up against the preaching of the Gospel by Pau to the Gentiles. Then they were reminded by Paul and Barnabas that the Gospel was brought to them first but they rejected it and now the Gospel has been brought to the Gentile because they were commanded by Jesus to spread the Gospel around the world and to be a light to the Gentiles.
The Gentiles were happy when they heard this from Paul and Barnabas and they glorify God. Many of the Gentiles believed and were ordained to eternal life.
Just like the Gentiles, we should always desire to hear the word of God over and over again in order for it to have a deep root in us. And as we hear the word of God, we should not keep it to ourselves, we are meant to spread the Gospel to others who don’t understand because we are supposed to be light to the Gentiles.

The gospel of salvation is for all people and all nations. You are the salt and the light of the earth. Make every effort to spread the Gospel to save the unsaved and reach the unreached.
I pray the Lord will make our light shine to all the nook and cranny of the world, starting from our community in Jesus Name. Amen.
