Psalm 34:1-14 KJV
[1] I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. [2] My soul shall make her boast in the Lord : the humble shall hear thereof , and be glad. [3] O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. [4] I sought the Lord , and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. [5] They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. [6] This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him , and saved him out of all his troubles. [7] The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. [8] O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. [9] O fear the Lord , ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. [10] The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing . [11] Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord . [12] What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? [13] Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. [14] Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

The weapon that brings deliverance to the soul of a man is peace. When Jesus came, He brought peace to the world and that is why He said “Peace be unto you.” In the absence of peace, sorrow takes over. We all need to pursue peace and those that do not seek peace are of the devil.

God has promised us great blessings but we need to participate actively to enjoy these blessings. Parts of what he promised us are that, He will set us free from fears, guard and defend us, show us goodness and supply all our needs and redeem us. All we need to do to enjoy all these is to take refuge with Him, refrain from lying, turn from evil, do good and seek peace.

Many may think that peace should come with no effort but from the above passage, David explained that we are to work hard at peace. Paul also echoed this thought in Romans 12:18

Romans 12:18 KJV
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

A person that want peace cannot be argumentative and contentious. A peaceful relationship is burn out of a peace-making. We are to work hard at living in peace with others each day. David said that a person who fears the Lord does not lie, turns from evil, does good, and promotes peace.

Peace is not the absence of war but the mastery of war. Keeping malice is not a way of life of believer. As Christians, we are to preach the Gospel and act on the word.

I pray that God will give us the spirit to be a peacemaker, in Jesus’ Name.

Thanks for Dropping By !
