In the world we generated feelings of anger and rejection towards people, we experienced feelings of hatred and resentment towards people. When we are transformed by the power of God through the Holy Spirit, the feelings of rejection towards people are transformed into feelings of brotherly love. This is not a change from one day to the next, but it is a constant and permanent practice, in which putting into practice the word of God, we end up accepting people as they are.

The Holy Spirit plays a very important role in the transformation of our emotions, since it reveals to us how we should treat our neighbor. If we learn to value ourselves as a child of God, this leads us to treat other people as brothers and to give them an adequate treatment like the one that God has given us.

We must begin to love ourselves and accept that we are children of God and that we no longer belong to darkness. When we accept ourselves with our mistakes and defects and bring them to Christ, He will be in charge of generating all the internal and external changes in our lives.

Christ loved us so that we too can express love for others. This leads us to value ourselves as children of God and act according to his divine will and thus give the best treatment to our neighbor.
