Living hopefully on the rock, which is Christ

While meditating on the word of the Lord, this morning, when the many troubled waters continue to shake the world, where the contagion of "Covid-19" continues to scare people and where the media continues to speak negative news, and people continue to lose their jobs and the economic crisis continues to create more panic and fear in society. We can only live hopeful in Christ.

As Christians we know that we are standing on the rock that is Christ, and we also know that in stormy times Christ gives us the strength to stand firm on the day of conflict. In Christ we hope that although the winds blow like a hurricane and that the waters have grown and stirred like a river in their fury, however, we know that if we are founded on the rock that is Christ, we will prevail against the forces of evil.

25 Rain came down, and rivers came, and winds blew, and beat against that house; and it did not fall, because it was founded on the rock. 26 But whoever hears these words from me and does not do them, I will compare him to a foolish man, who built his house on the sand; 27 And the rain came down, and the rivers came, and the winds blew, and beat against that house; and he fell, and his ruin was great.
Matthew 7: 25-27 King James Version (RVR1960)

Christians have confidence that in Christ, we will have renewed strength to resist all adverse circumstances of life such as the one we are experiencing today. The problem is when we do not have Christ as a solid foundation in our lives, it is there where the hurricane force winds and the tumbled waters of the swollen rivers will hit hard on that person and knock him down, and his ruin will be greater.

In this time of crisis, we must be full of hope on the powerful rock that is Christ.
