My devotional: Happy with what you have!

Why do we sometimes not feel happy people? Simply because we don't really know what we have. It is necessary to make a list of spiritual and material goods, to later understand that we are richer than those who, having material abundance, do not have the most important thing, which is or spiritual.

I know of a man, very millionaire, with finances, cattle and money to spare, unfortunately he died without Christ and all his property became loot for his relatives. This man had all material wealth, but he did not have the most important wealth, which is spiritual, through salvation in Christ.

We cannot continue wasting time without valuing the great true riches that will guarantee us an eternity of happiness with Christ. Make your list of what you have, and review the following word that the Lord left us in the book of Hebrews:

Be your habits without greed, happy with what you have now; for he said, I will not forsake you, nor will I forsake you;
Hebrews 13: 5 King James Version (RVR1960)

The Lord exhorts us to be content with what we have. I can ask you, reader friend, what material and spiritual assets do you have? Perhaps, materially, you will tell me that you do not have the same material wealth of the man that we spoke at the beginning of this publication, however, you are able to make your spiritual list and it will tell me:

I have salvation Christ. This is very nice, because the rich man of this message, even having all the wealth, unfortunately left without Christ and we know what awaits him and the place where he is right now. In the same way, you will say that you have joy, freedom, hope, health, faith, temperance, love and an endless list of spiritual goods that make you richer than those who, having the material, do not achieve happiness.

You can also make a list of the material things that you own and you will find that you own: house, car, work, a family, friends, some savings, etc.

This shows us that in one way or another we must be grateful to God for all the things he has given us, both material and spiritual.

In this time of crisis and popular revolts in the world, the important thing is to be content with what God in his love has given us. The most significant assets in life are spiritual assets. If you have salvation in Christ, you will enjoy eternal life in the not too distant future and you will enjoy a precious home that Christ went to prepare in heaven for all his children. We will be walking the streets of gold and worshiping the heavenly Father on his throne and we will see him as he is. Isn't all this glorious? Of course it is. So we must show joy and deep contentment in gratitude for all that we have received from God. So the word exhorts us that "We must be happy with what we have."

Material things will never make us fully satisfied, because the more we have, the more we want to have. This becomes greed and robs us of peace and tranquility. It is better to be happy with what we have. Be little or much, but with a heart of thanks to God.
