2 Kings
Chapter
1 And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah with a whirlwind into heaven, that Elijah came with Elisha from Gilgal.
2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.
3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; shut up.
4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, I know it; shut up.
6 And Elijah said unto him, Pray for me, for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they both went.
7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets came, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.
8 And Elijah took his mantle, and folded it, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before he be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let the two parts of thy spirit be upon me.
10 And he said unto her, Thou hast asked a hard thing. If you see me when I am taken from you, it will be done to you; but if not, no.
11 And it came to pass, as they talked, behold, there came a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.
12And when Elisha saw it, he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And she saw him no more, and, breaking his garments, he broke them in two.

In those days what Elise asked for was a double portion of the spirit, she was basically asking him to recognize him as a son, they are interesting events we are seeing the succession of a man who had lived supernatural things towards a normal man who had only been with him. When Elijah says to Elisha, follow me, immediately think that is what God wants to tell us ?, he wants to unleash a greater glory in a generation that has an apostolic mantle.

It is necessary that in these times men like Elijah and Elise be anointed and that that double portion rests on each one of us, to make disciples of the nations, reading this word I see that Elijah took Elisha to a place called Bethel, which means house of the God, that is where we must guide this generation.

The fact that Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah's spirit also does not mean that Elisha wanted to have a ministry that is twice as large as Elijah's prophetic ministry, although in reality the Bible records that Elisha performed twice as many miracles as Elijah. . What this means is that Elisha wanted to carry out his prophetic ministry with spiritual power far beyond his own ability, so that he would be a worthy successor of Elijah. In essence, Elisha wanted Elijah's spiritual power to continue to manifest in his own life and ministry. Upon hearing the request, Elijah said that what Elisha had asked for was difficult, because only God can grant spiritual power. Elijah was unable to bestow spiritual power on Elisha. That is why Elijah told Elisha that if he saw his departure, it would be a sign that God Himself would grant the request that Elisha had made. History confirms that Elisha saw Elijah ascend to heaven in a whirlwind, and as a result Elisha received from God what he had asked for, the spiritual power to be a worthy successor of Elijah.

That double portion of the spirit is what we need to reach the crowds, to be those prophets of fire, that spirit is that of father to children. Let us ask our inheritance to God the Father today and reach the double anointing like Elisha. In Jesus we have all the spiritual blessings (Ephesians 1: 3). In Him we have the strength, the power, the authority to do God's will. All we have to do is believe the scripture and live it by faith.

Let us live in Bible teaching and live by faith what we learn; we are the Firstborn in Christ and therefore we already have the double blessing of the Father.
