Be constant in your zeal for the Lord

And the fire lit on the altar shall not be quenched, but the priest shall put wood on it every morning, and arrange the burnt offering on it, and burn the fat of the peace sacrifices on it. 13 The fire will burn continuously on the altar; it will not turn off. Leviticus 6: 12-13

An average devotional life does not please God at all. The Christian should remain in a constant state of spiritual warmth and not be a cold, passive Christian.

The Lord says in Revelation 3:16, that he vomits the lukewarm. The Christian with a half-devotional life is rejected by the Lord.

“But since you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth. Revelation 3:16 "

The Bible suggests a set of different ways of organizing life in such a way as to express a zealous devotion to God.

The psalmist David was characterized as a man immersed in the heart of prayer. Both in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening, he remained in personal devotion to God. In times of persecution, David always remained a fiery prayer warrior and with his harp he sang and praised God.

Showing great zeal in devotion to God helps us to remain in God's presence and in times of trouble, the Lord comes to our aid.

The devotional home should be constantly on fire and with great passion for God. We must not allow the burning fire of the Holy Spirit to go out in our lives. In the Old Testament, God's command for priests was that the fire on the altar should always be lit. Today every Christian is the priest of the temple where the Spirit of God dwells, which is our body, therefore, we must be jealous with our devotion to God and be constant so that the burning fire of the Holy Spirit in each believer does not go out.

Try to be jealous with your devotional life for God and be consistent and not faint so that you do not run out of fuel on the altar of your heart.
