Horror in the city park / Horror v parku

"Be that word our sign of parting, bird or fiend!” I shrieked, upstarting—
“Get thee back into the tempest and the Night’s Plutonian shore!
Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!
Leave my loneliness unbroken!—quit the bust above my door!
Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!”
Quoth the Raven “Nevermore.”

(E. A. Poe, The Raven)

„Však teď vari s mého prahu, ptáku, ďáble, starý vrahu,
v peklo zpět neb v bouř, jež hnala sem tě do mých okenic,
ani péra nenech tady, ani slova z lži tvé, zrády,
v samotě mé beze vnady nech mne, nechci vědět nic.
Přestaň rvát mi srdce, šelmo, kliď se z dveří prchajíc!“
Na to havran: „Nikdy víc!“

(E. A. Poe, Havran; překlad: Jar. Vrchlický)

The truth is that the photo is neither a raven, but an ordinary hooded crow. But does it bother anyone?
Pravdou je, že na fotce není ani havran, ani krkavec, ale obyčejná vrána šedivka. Ale vadí to někomu?

Amazing poem, but it does such a disservice to this incredibly smart bird! Great photo!
