Watching the mountains for snow.

But first a hungry raptor and a chasing Pied crow security family.

This Jackal Buzzard was out on a hunt and he met with the unexpected.

Oh yes we have been swimming in the rain for the past weeks and just after drying, the rain comes to greet us again. We received a new storm warning and were told that we could expect some snow.
Now snow is always a novelty in South Africa, as it is nothing like the European countries.
But snow is snow and we love it.

This family of 4 crows decided that they didn't like the predator and they escorted him out of their territory.

Our temperatures continue to drop and hopefully it will create ideal snowing conditions.

The mountains look cold enough for snow and I don't know if that is the same Buzzard as this and the next photo was taken on my zoom, over a distance of about 6 kilometers.

Batten down the hatches! Cape Town braced for storms and SNOW .

With the Western Cape braced for yet another cold front to make landfall and bring with it gale-force winds and heavy rain that threaten localised flooding, the South African Weather Service (SAWS) have also indicated that some of the province might experience some light snow fall on Thursday 8 July.

Hey chief, he said, will it rain again today ?
So I acted like the weatherman does at times, No, it will not rain

I bet that he will never ask me for a weather prediction again hahahah.

We can cry or we can laugh about something that we can do nothing about. But can we really do nothing about the weather?
Of course not, as we can protect ourselves by staying warm in winter and staying out of the African sun in summer.

They are saying that we should batten down the hatches, but we are not like that as we are out there at every opportunity. Why sit moaning in front of a heater when there are so many challenges to conquer outside?
This might be our first snow at this side of the mountains.
Just my way of looking at things, as we are always rewarded by beauty.

And That's All Friends.

We're having a heatwave up to 37C (don't laugh ;) and you're waiting for snow, that still sounds strange to me, although I know how it works :)

I like the crows working as team to escort the Buzzard 😊

Cheers and !BEER :)

Always strange, aspecially as the devices that we communicate on makes it feel like a friend is next door. Instead the friend is sitting and sweating and the other one is sitting and shivering 🤣

I am sure that the heatwave originated in Canada.

Yes me too and as you know, I have seen a few real fights in the sky.
When we recently took a lady to the hospital, we waited at the beach and we saw 2 crows chasing away a family of 3 small falcons. I have the photos somewhere and thanks for reminding me 😉

Cheers and thanks.

Yes, that's even more strange than the time differences we have between us and the US or Australia.

I'm not sure about the heat wave, but I am no weather expert 😉

Yep, that reminds me of videos I saw where small dolphins were chasing sharks.

!BEER and !PIZZA - nice 😃

God bless you with more snow! Snow is moisture for plants in the spring! Let all plants drink water!

Thanks for the pizza, delicious!
Eat it, and wait for the weather to come from the sea when it snows 😀

Hahaha, our snow weather comes from the Atlantic ocean in the north and not from the Indian ocean at the south. The two oceans meet here at the coast of the Western Province.

Have some more #PIZZA
