The first fight with a Hawk.

How to scare a thief.
040.jpg
Early morning and a beautiful mountain scene, but danger was lurking in the dark.

Harry was up on a street lamp keeping a watch over Sally and the babies and I was on the ground keeping an eye out for cats.
046.jpg

Slowly the light increased and we could see things clearer.
049.jpg

Sally started screaming and yes, there he was! Too dark to identify but the silhoutte looked like a hawk.

Harry took off like a rocket to intercept the hawk.

The hawk saw Harry coming and no bird wants a fight with an angry Egyptian goose.
073.jpg

So yes, wisely the hawk decided to disappear.
077.jpg

Sally and the babies are safe and Harry the hero dad will spend the rest of the day close to them.

The first scare was a stray cat a day ago and now the fight with the hawk this morning and I am sure for the next two weeks there are going to be more attempts by predators to get the babies.
But we make a formidable team Harry and me and even though we realize that there will be losses, we will try our best to keep things together.
Such is life.

And That's All Friends!

Wow! I would love to watch such an amazing scene. Harry is up and out for predators who want to devour it's offspring lol.

Harry sure is going to be busy for the coming future to keep them all safe.

Hope they all manage to make old bones....

Harry is a hero. I have seen birds of different kinds and sizes chasing the raptors, protecting their territory. Angry Harry is something worth watching.

Thank you and yes, Harry is an old warrior and even the crows are scared of him.
This afternoon before my accident a Jackal Buzzard was scouting the nanies overhead, but 3 crows escorted him away.

Btw. Did you see my friend request on Discord? Sent it yesterday.

The Egyptian Goose has got to weigh in at over ten pounds.
Smart bird, hold the high ground as he's perched on the light tower.
Birds in flight, a @papilloncharity specialty.

How have you been my friend.

Oh yeah and he has a raspy mouth that he attacks with in flight. I have seen hom pluck a bunch of feathers out of the wing of another bird in flight.
That street light is his favorite hang out spot in the day and at night he is down standing here in the road inside the complex, close to his wife and the babies.
Can you believe that he stands there until daylight. Every night.

I am fine and thank you for asking and we hope that you guys are also well?

They are indeed so cute Lady Melinda and thank goodness that they are all still alive.
In the day we and a lady across from us keep an eye on them, but at nightime it is a problem.
At my age I cannot sit through a night anymore.

Blessings and have some !PIZZA
